CFFR is an all volunteer foster-based 501c3 whose mission is to find homes for kittens & cats in need

We believe that providing loving home environments and individualized personal care for our cats and kittens in foster homes, helps ensure a healthier, more natural and far less stressful experience for our animals than having them in traditional shelter environments. Since many of our fosters are now staying home to work, they are able to spend the time and energy needed to properly socialize and

tend to the specific needs of the cats and kittens in their care to best prepare them for their forever homes.

Celebrating Houseplant Appreciation Day and keeping cats safe!

Houseplants are more popular than ever and are a great way to brighten up your home, especially in the winter. But if you have cats in your home too it is essential to know which plants may be toxic to felines. Some common house plants that are highly toxic to cats are: peace lilies, pathos (devil's ivy), caladium (elephant ear), sago palms, poinsettia, snake plants, aloe vera, jade plants and calla lilies. If you're unsure about a specific plant a quick search on the ASPCA website will tell you if the plant is toxic and if your cat has already had contact with it, what the possible signs of ingestion are.

Some cat safe beautiful house plants we recommend are: hoyas, chinese money plants, rattlesnake plants, spider plants, parlor palms and bird's nest ferns.

Today is National Pet Travel Safety Day! Whether you and your pet are traveling home after the holidays or simply across town for a vet visit, it’s important to keep their safety in mind. Here are some steps we recommend: before traveling familiarize your pet with their carrier to reduce stress. Be sure to pack your pet’s essentials: food, water, medications, and comfort items such as toys or blankets. Just in case, check that your pet’s microchip identification information is up to date. In case of long distance travel, consider a health checkup with your vet prior to departure and be sure to bring any required health certificates.
