The temperature is meant to hit 31°C on Sunday and 40°C on Monday & Tuesday. I cannot stress enough how crucial it is to keep your dog indoors and cool at any weather above 23-24°C. Sunday, Monday & Tuesday STILL won’t be cool enough to walk in, first thing in the morning or last thing at night. Please save yourself a vet visit and a pet loss.

Ahh! I’ve missed Daisy so much these past couple of weeks with Daisy being poorly, the weather being extremely hot and then myself having COVID-19 it’s been so long since I last saw her😢

The weather wasn’t on our side this morning but she thoroughly enjoyed it🐾

☀️IMPORTANT☀️

It’s meant to be the hottest day of the year tomorrow.

So I would like to advise people NOT to walk their dogs/drive their dogs in this dangerous heat, even if you’re sat under a shelter…every year too many dogs die from heatstroke but 0 dogs have died from a missed walk/drive.

Best times to walk your dog when it’s incredibly hot are:

6am-7am
9pm-10pm
When it’s much, much cooler!

Apologies for being so quiet on here lately…

Just a gentle reminder that I will not walk ANY dog when the weather is over 23-24°C as the welfare of your four legged friend is my priority.

I do however, offer pet pop ins when the weather is too hot and can provide mental stimulation games.

On a side note, leaving your dog in a stationary car with the windows down does not make it much cooler for your dog, they can still get heatstroke…please be mindful this summer☀️

I decided to take Daisy to this field that’s right on her doorstep, where there are shaded areas and less pavement to keep her pads nice and cool 🐶

With the weather being incredibly hot this week please remember to avoid walking your dogs during the day, if you can’t keep your hand on the pavement for longer than 5 seconds without it warming up/burning your hand then it’s not safe🤚🏼

Personally, I won’t walk Koda in the day if the weather is any higher than 23-24°C☀️

If you can, aim to walk your dog early in the morning or late at night when it’s a lot cooler. If this isn’t possible then mental stimulation games inside or a shaded area in the back garden would help🌲

Please avoid putting your dog in a car during this time too, a car is very much like an oven and dogs can die in a matter of minutes🚗

Just a gentle reminder that I will NOT walk any dog in temperatures over 23°, the welfare of your dog is my main priority. My walks for these temperatures will be early mornings ONLY. However I can provide mental stimulation activities in the safety of your own home such as puzzles, snuffle mats etc when the temperatures rise.
