A heart-warming story of how people can come together to help pups in need!
Phew! We didn’t get hit as hard as we were expected to!
We thank you so much for taking in a foster pup or dog (or 2 or litter!) All 89 on Cortez’s roster were out to foster- WE EMPTIED CORTEZ!!!! 🙏🏼🥰
We were blown away by the amount of community fosters that stepped forward and took in all they did…even right up to the last foster at 9pm Friday!
Now, the really fun begins for our staff and volunteers that will be cleaning up the water and debris and hopefully little damage 🙏🏼 yet to be determined as they haven’t been able to get into Cortez yet.
We are hoping that all the clean up happens today and tomorrow and tomorrow will be a reset on all the kennels etc as we took down and stored everything. We are hoping today & Monday dries all the kennels as we don’t want to return them to wet kennels as that could have them get sick or fungal issues 🙈
We are currently planning for a Tuesday return for them and we will have our awesome volunteers ready to receive them and drive them back to Cortez; we will meet at the Smokey’s parking lot (time yet to be set) & if you are unable to meet us there, just let us know to make other arrangements.
If by chance you are really enjoying your foster(most likely the pup you have has never been out of cortez since his/hers intake) and you would like to foster longer, just let us know! We would be thrilled and we would be happy to send anything you may need that you didn’t receive for storm fostering: bed, kennel, harness, toys & chews, p**p bags, bowls, treats etc. We can set you up with it all. 🙏🏼
Again, thank you so much from the bottoms of our hearts ❤️ we cleared Cortez and got all the pups out because you cared and helped us to make it happen! We appreciate YOU!
We will send next update as soon as we can!
Sincerely,
