CW Horsemanship | Located in Hillsborough, NC (10 minutes north of downtown).

Natural Horsemanship trainer specializing in resistance-free training (R+). With 2025 openings for problem solving, c**t starting, gentling, groundwork and liberty/tricks.

Facility Highlights:
- 120x240 lighted outdoor arena
- 100' round pen with spectator seating
- 50' round pen and mustang pens
- Miles of scenic trails
- Obstacle course, full jump course, XC-style jumps along trails, and a dedicated jump field

- Groundwork & Undersaddle Training: Starting at $1,400/month
- Gentling Services(for untouched or non halter-broke horses): Starting at $1,800/month

Some of y’all may remember me horse showing while 26 weeks pregnant or the little baby who hung out in the shade at my clinics this past summer!

Well that little girl is now 9 months old and just did her first leadline show today! As always our trusty old pony Milo was a saint in packing her around. You will see more of her in the arena this show season!

I couldn’t be a prouder mom and am so excited to have my mini trainer beside me at shows now.

Just An Illusion “Thea” is a 8 year old grey mustang mare from Triple B, NV standing around 14.2 hands located in Hillsborough NC. This mare has ALL the trick training and liberty buttons! She is broke to ride but does not stay sound with consistent riding due to stifle issues which is which why she will be best as a trick/liberty partner.

Thea has performed at countless venues and shows with me in front of hundreds of people. She can be a spicier partner but once she’s in front of a crowd she settles down and goes through the routine flawlessly. Thea definitely picks her people and needs someone she clicks with. I also competed with her in the 2019 Youth Extreme Mustang Makeover in Lexington KY where she placed 4th overall.

I will ONLY sell her to someone who has extensive trick training knowledge as she does have more dangerous cues such as the rear.

This would be a perfect partner for a youth trainer who is familiar with mustangs and wants to get into performing. ONLY selling as I won’t be performing anymore and hate seeing such a brilliant horse sitting in the pasture with nothing to do.

Tag #9114 is now known as “Glitch in the Matrix” and her barn name is “Glitch”!

Super excited for this little mares future, she’s shown a great brain so far and lots of curiosity.

Glitch will be available in January of 2025 for sale!

Meet Tag #9114 a 3 year old grey mare from Spruce-Pequop, Neveda!

I had originally bidded and purchased another horse from the online auction but when I arrived to the venue I noticed her stifles seemed to be catching, and I’ve had so many stifle issues with my past 3 mustangs that I didn’t want to risk it with a competition horse though she was so big and dreamy. Anyways I chose to take home this little mare! Super excited to see where she goes and to start exploring her personality.

About CW Horsemanship

Carley Wheelis started out with English riding lessons and soon realized that most riders do not truly know the basics of horsemanship. Most get to their lesson tack up and hop on. Not learning how to properly lunge, do groundwork, or learning how to truly control your horse's body under-saddle.

She owns six personal horses, four of which are BLM Mustangs that she has taken from wild to mild. The others are a Lusitano and a grade pinto pony. With her personal horses, she enjoys fox hunting, showmanship, ranch riding, hunter/jumpers, and performing.

Carley has participated in six (7) different mustang competitions. She's competed in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 Kentucky Extreme Mustang Makeover. Along with the 2019 Ocala, Florida Extreme Mustang Makeover, the 2020 Equine Affair TIP Challenge, and the 2020 Georgia TIP Challenge.
