Received this beautiful letter from a couple who had adopted 2 kitties from me, Top Dog Rescue, in 2008. Before that, they had adopted a dog from us. I’ve known them for about 25 years!
All three pets truly lived their best lives! That’s the way it should be!

It’s been a heck of a week. 😔 Had to say goodbye to two of our Santuary, old timers. Mojo and Trooper came to us at a young age and because of behavioral issues, couldn’t be adopted.
My family and I have learned how to work with pets with all different issues, that most people would never keep. We have had a variety of dogs and cats that we have made part of our family, because the alternative was not an option. We have completely loved each one, as part of the family.
Mojo was a 16yo Beagle/Lab mix, whose nose continued to get him into trouble until the last couple of months. He loved to bark, counter surf, and get into anything and everything he wasn’t supposed to! However, Mojo loved his people the most!!
Trooper was a very stubborn, 14yo American Bulldog. He was like a bull in a china shop! Because he wasn’t good with other dogs, he usually hung out with us in a secluded part of the house. In the yard, he would often be seen bucking like a Bronco, as he galloped around the yard with happy energy!
I’ll miss these boys with all my heart, but I know they are pain free and waiting for me at the rainbow bridge. ❤️❤️

This is Rescue…

This past summer, I came home to find a dog crate in my driveway, with a scared, but sweet, tabby kitty in it. Poor boy had a note with him, which said, he was 12yo and the owners could no longer care for him. Very sad, but also now I needed to find room in our already overcrowded rescue, for a senior cat, who would probably live his life out with us.

With a lot of love and attention, after some initial depression, Percy adjusted to the other kitties in the home, and the daily routine. He followed me everywhere and loved to talk every chance he got. He was a very outgoing cat, who didn’t require much, just some pets, cuddles and sweet words. A true joy to have around. ❤️😺❤️

Today, Percy became suddenly lethargic. The Emergency vet said he was in profound kidney failure, and there was nothing that could be done.😔 For the care he had received, we have an almost $500 bill. But, that was our commitment to sweet Percy.

To his previous owners, today I held your precious boy, wrapped in a warm blanket, while he took his last breath. The whole time telling him what a good boy he was, how much we loved him, and giving him kisses. Of course, I cried. 😔

Meet Sully!
He’s a 2yo Mini Bermadoodle, who loves everyone, and is looking for a home. His family loved him very much, but due to life changes, felt they no longer had the time to give him, that he deserved.
Sully is only medium size, approximately 25-30 #, with a big personality! He is a bouncy pup with lots of energy! He needs an active family with time to exercise him daily. He is good with other dogs, cats and kids. He would benefit from obedience training, to make him the best doodle he can be! We are not recommending him with children under 7, due to his energy level. He will need professional grooming every 8-12 weeks.

It was a huge success!!!

The largest crowd we've ever had at GravCap Brewing saw Team Doomsday bring the house down last as we raised money and awareness for Top Dog Animal Rescue in Troy and the Cat Connection in Lake Orion!

This is beautiful Carley! She is only 1 & 1/2 years old, extremely sweet, affectionate and outgoing! She was abandoned outside, when her owners moved. She is great with all people, dogs and cats! She is spayed and fully vetted. She is looking for a loving, forever home, that will appreciate the wonderful kitty that she is! ❤️😸❤️

We took in a very sweet bonded pair of kitties, Carli and Cali, almost a year ago now!! They are the most loving, and affectionate girls! Their young owner became homeless and felt the best thing to do was to give these sweet, young girls, the chance for a loving home. It took a while to find the right home, but we are happy to say that we did!! These sweet girls have the love of 2 mamas and each other, forever! ❤️😺😺❤️

Yesterday, we welcomed Max the Pug, to Top Dog Rescue! He is a spunky, happy, 8 yr. old boy, who loves everyone and everything. His dad passed away a couple years ago, and his mom recently went into assisted living. The few extended family members, were unable to keep Max. 😞
Max will need some time to decompress, and will then go to the vet to get a full exam and his vet care updated. As long as all is good, he will then go up for adoption. ❤️

Sweet 12 week old Sammy, was found wandering in a parking lot trying to get into cars with people. A caring man took him home and contacted us. After being unable to find Sammy’s original owners, he was placed up for adoption.
Sammy has now found the loving, forever home he deserves! ❤️😺❤️

We have been so busy with many urgent rescue issues, and gotten behind on our posts.
We have had several happy adoptions for our homeless older kittens. Enjoy!

Henry and Henley were part of a litter of 7 and mama, who were found living under a dumpster in an apartment complex. They were a very urgent rescue, as garbage pickup was the next day!
Mama and her litter did great while in rescue. Henry and Henley were lucky enough to fine a forever home together!❤️😺😺❤️

We have been super busy with rescue situations and issues, and have gotten behind on our posts!

We have done several kitty adoptions lately. This was another where we were able to find an awesome home for 2 siblings!
Dexter and his sister Dixie, are enjoying their forever family!
