Willow (Docs Wildchild) got to see the Ike this morning too. Lol we gonna share the pretty runs and the not so much. We found all the scary things but I’m very proud of her for trying her best today. The set up at the doesn’t allow for us to take them in there multiple times so both c**ts only got 2 exb a piece to work things out.
So this girl is very proud of both c**ts today.

Our first win on Scarlett has been ✅ !!
This mare has come so so far!!! Last night she she won 3rd 4D with 130 entries!
She has had a long journey but I’m so very proud to see this breakthrough!
Was it our smoothest run , no ! She finds Ruston arena very distracting but she allowed me to handle her and for that I’m so very happy !

Sometimes when we are working through a horses journey we have to work at their pace and celebrate the smallest wins, and when they start paying off and the puzzle pieces begin to fall together it makes the process so worth the wait

More to come from this little roan pony as we get her ready for her young jockey back home

I’m so very proud of how far McKenzie has come in her journey it’s one thing to jockey a finished horse and a whole other to jockey a baby! I’m so so proud of this new team and can’t wait to this unfold!

Changing how we talk to ourselves is the hardest thing we’ll do and it makes the largest impact

Stop losing before you ever get started:

Anxiety before a run is the number one serial killer for a rodeo career. It’s the stressing about the event before you even leave the house. It’s telling yourself you shouldn’t go because it’s not going to go well. It’s psyching yourself out during your warm up and over thinking every little thing. How do you handle this internal bully? How do you convince yourself that it’s all mental? Honestly, it takes time. It takes discipline to rewire your brain into letting go of all the negativity. You’re losing the run before you ever step into the arena because you are allowing yourself to be consumed by all the negative thoughts in your head. Stop focussing on what your internal bully is saying to you. Talk to people if you have to, listen to music, do whatever it takes to drown out the noise. Every time you hear your internal bully, tell yourself something positive in your mind. Let it be something that you are proud of or a positive statement. “I am going to rock this run”. “I am so proud of how far I have come and how much better my seat has become in the saddle”. I don’t care if you have to start singing out loud in front of everyone in order to drown out the noise in your head. Don’t let anxiety win. Don’t lose before you ever get started. This run is no different than every good run you have ever had. Set yourself up for success and believe in yourself. Anxiety and self doubt are internal bullies but the good thing is, they aren’t real. We control the narrative. We allow for those bullies to win the battle in our minds. So change the narrative. Be confident in yourself. Don’t lose before you ever get started, you’re selling yourself short.

There are many horses that come through the barn that I fall in love with, this giant grey stole my heart this summer while he stayed with me for training and I might have shed a tear when his time was done. For Christmas tho he found his way back for a small tune up and I couldn’t have been happier 🥰 Oz placed 2nd 2d today at a very stiff jackpot. He’s a special baby and I’m just proud to be part of his story
