With the impending storm coming I will not be pulling the farm stand out this weekend. However just knock on the door if you would like any eggs, brown bread or preserves🙂

This week along with the eggs and maritime brown bread we have bread and butter pickles and hotdog relish up at the stand. There is also cucumbers…so many cucumbers. The cucumbers are listed as .50 a cucumber however it’s a pay as you wish for them. We just need them to go!

The stand is out again! The cucumber bed has been over producing, which is amazing! So today out at the stand is bread and butter pickles, pickling cucumbers and larger pickling cucumbers for making relish. There is also fresh from the oven Maritime bread❤️

The stand is out on a Friday!
Sandwich bread was made fresh this morning. Plus the fingerling potatoes and greens were just harvested a few moments ago. And as always there are washed eggs in the cooler 🥰

This was our little harvest from the morning.
It’s the last of our garlic scapes and the end of the haskap berries. That being said cucumber, zucchini and calendula have just begun🙂

It’s kinda grey out there but the stand is open with farm fresh eggs, fresh bread and some haskap jam!
New this week is Sourdough German Dark Rye Bread.

Hubby had the day off for a quick project. He just needs to finish the water hook up and add water/dirt catching bins to the bottom. Other then that tada potting station and veggie cleaning area. No more dirt being dragged thru the house🙂
I also had a super cute DOOMY boy for my garden helper today❤️

I gotta say thank goodness for the cricut cause the hand painting skills are lacking.
This sign is going to be added to the farm stand for this weekend and the rest of the summer weekends.

This summer we are hoping to get the farmstand up at the end of the driveway. In preparation for that I made a batch of vanilla lavender goat milk soap.

It was a goal achieving morning! My sourdough finally had a good outcome and my kombucha popped and fizzed, which I have been trying to do for way to long.

New homesteading skill of the day. Yogurt!
8 cups of milk
2 Tbsp greek yogurt (with live culture)
And an instant pot
Makes about 7 cups of yogurt

Second attempt at a sourdough starter. She looked ready to bake with so I felt like it was ok to use her discard for making some crumpets. They definitely have a good taste but needs more bubbles. So that will be something I work on for next time.

Ups and downs of the homestead today. I was so excited to try my first gluten free artisan loaf but it was an epic fail and now I have a hockey puck😞
The last of our garlic needed to be processed so it didn’t go bad in the bucket and after a few hours of peeling and chopping we have 4 bags in the freezer to use for the year❤️

The baby chicks are getting all feathered out. We have had them now for about 6 weeks and soon they will be big enough to join the big girls in the coop.

It's been busy at the homestead with Cal, Shay and Elliot moving to the east coast and also with new baby chicks. So here are some pics of the new chicks as babies and as 3 week olds for you to enjoy ❤

Killing the weeds with silage tarp before we put up the hoop house in the spring. And it is HOT out there!

Well he tried it again this morning...poor teenage boy with his cracking voice.
Brook and I held our breath all morning as the boys dropped 5 trees...this was the last of them.
