As most people know, animal shelters euthanize animals that are not adopted, or are considered not adoptable. Most people do not realize that some of these shelters do so in as little as 4 days. Another thing a lot of people do not realize is that there are approximately two million animals killed in shelters each year. That is one third of the six million animals that are given to animal shelters.
There are some shelters that do not euthanize animals. These are called no-kill animal shelters. Unfortunately, there are very few no-kill shelters in the state of Wisconsin.
