Why we do what we do and why it Iz a journey:
Ever wonder what all of those ingredients mean on the back of a bag of commercial brand of treats?
I’m not here to bash or compete. It would be a losing battle since major corporations control most of the food industry.
We are here to a make a difference, provide a choice, a healthier option.
The top 5 ingredients are generally the most important to your dog’s health. After that, it’s mostly fillers and preservatives. I mean, who wouldn’t want to eat something that has been on a shelf for 2 years? It’s always great to ask Siri what sodiumcarbowhattheheck is when you’re standing in that aisle. A board of Nutritionists? Yeah but they are getting paid, by the very corp that is stuffing 60% carbs in your dog’s treat.
Who wants that? Well certainly not me, and not my dogs. We offer a choice of fresh simple ingredients without added sugars from our treats to our pup pastries.
Shelf life? We guarantee our treats for 30 days but they’ll last longer when stored properly. Most don’t last that long because doggos love them. And doggos should! They are made with the top 10 dog loved ingredients without Gluten aka wheat.
With all of these healthier options, we are not done. We utilize and resource our products from local growers in Hawaii. Sustainability, it’s a thing.
We also use eco friendly packaging and limit our labeling. It’s all so very simple.
We are not new to this. We’ve not changed our recipes or our mission.
Ask me how it all started and you’ll get the novel of the lost love of my heart dog to Osteosarcoma. You will hear about our journey and dedication to a cause so great, it had to be lost to find what could be greater from such a loss.
We don’t need a Nutritionalist, we had Professors at Penn State, University of Florida, Cornell and UC Davis tell us, high carbs are bad period.
So if you’re still reading, know we can’t change anything but provide an option. We can make a difference in what we buy, how we support and how we dispose of our treats for dogs. There are many providers of dog treats with their own mission but we wanted to share ours.
Six years ago today I lost my best friend.
