I just happened to snap this adorable photo of Oso this evening and I thought it was a good opportunity to share some news.
Although it makes us sad, we will not be having anymore puppies with our current dogs. Oso, Maple and Roma are now retired from breeding.
We chose not to breed Nairobi due to multiple emotionally traumatic events in her young life. We know that big traumas can potentially alter brain chemistry and we didn't want to risk passing any uneasy emotions down as generational trauma to future puppies. Mental health standards for breeding are just as important as physical health standards.
We've put in a lot of training with her and she's thriving, but we didn't want to take a chance on poorer quality offspring.
We'd love to pickup breeding again in the future (5+ years down the road), but right now we're focusing on giving back to our current pack for all that they have given us and ensuring the rest of their lives are of impeccable quality.
We're so grateful for everyone that has supported our puppies and provides them with loving and caring homes.
