A couple of weeks ago I looked after Alfie and Ella for their mummies. I know Ella well already so wasn't concerned about how she'd be with me, but Alfie I've only met a couple of times, he's very anxious, and very much a mummy's boy who won't accept anyone else. I knew I was going to have my work cut out for me, and was worried he might not come round at all, and I was there for two weeks!
So the first photo is how he started out with me. He was terrified of me and I couldn't go anywhere near him, he would sit in the corner staring at the wall and wouldn't even eat a biscuit until I left the room (and he loves food!).
Fortunately after a couple of days he came around and accepted me :) In the end he was cuddling up with me any chance he got, like a little teddy bear

I've been looking after a new client these past two weeks, and she's adorable :) Poppy is an older dog, at 14, can't see or hear so well, and gets confused at times, but she still has a little run when she feels like it and barks at animals on the TV :p She's been beside me all the time and so cuddly, including in bed. We've had two 20 minute walks a day and as I work from 'home' lots of little wee breaks in the garden, where she's had a little sunbathe during the short periods of sunshine ;)
I'm always happy to look after animals of any age and will fit in with their routines, length of walk, amount of cuddles needed etc.
My next sit is a little white dog too

So I'm pretty much booked up for this year, and taking bookings for next. I'm travelling for a shorter period so can fit more animal-sits in, between January and October :)
Just a reminder that I cover mainly Tameside/Glossop and Calderdale areas.
From £17.50 per night.

I've been really missing all my animal friends while travelling for the past few months so was very happy to meet this lovely girl at parkrun in Krakow this morning. She gave proper hugs and wouldn't let go 🥰 I said to her mum that I love dogs and she said, 'yes, she can clearly tell' 😂

Sniffs are so important :) I always give the dogs I walk plenty of time to stop whenever they want to as it's their walk not mine!

As a nomad I can't have animals of my own so spending time with clients' babies is amazing for me, as I love hanging out with animals so much

Hi everyone!
So I've done the first phase of my European travels in Scandinavia and am now looking after my baby Hafu who lives with my ex and her partner, as they've gone to the US for a wedding. It's so lovely getting to spend proper time with her

A short but busy sit this weekend in Bolton, with 2 dogs and 6 cats! Good experience for me looking after Fig who was rescued from Romania less than 6 months ago and took a bit to come round. She was much better on our third walk than our first, and was barking less in the garden :)

This month altogether I'll be looking after 15 cats, 4 dogs, 3 hens and 3 ducks :)
August is less busy as I'm away in Scotland and Northern Ireland for some of it. So far just 3 dogs, but I have availability, so do get in touch if you need someone :)

Just finishing up 8 days with Harry and Ben, who are both adorable. My first time looking after these two, and I hope not my last! Harry is very full of energy so we had two hour-long walks a day - keeping me fit ;) His mum got a long lead for while I was looking after him as I prefer not to risk letting dogs in my care off the lead - it was great, especially for his favourite activity, which is swimming. We went to a river and a reservoir a few times each and had great fun. He also met quite a few of my friends who live nearby :)

£15 per night plus £5 for each dog and £2.50 for any other animal (I won't charge per hen though if you have hens - just £2.50 for the lot!)

So true. We need to give them time and support and not just assume they're being 'naughty'!

Tuesday musings.

Dogs want to get it right. Their lives are easier when they understand the human rules. It is our job and responsibility to teach them kindly, consistently, and gently how to be dogs in a human world.

It is also important that we take the time to learn their communications and body language to make sure we are fully meeting their needs and making sure they feel safe.

If taking your furbabies on holiday has become too expensive maybe they'd prefer to stay in their own home and be doted on by me ;) Only £15 per night plus £5 for dogs and £2.50 for others (if you have say lots of chickens it's just £2.50 for the whole flock!)

For the past 10 days I had the very lovely job of looking after Pippin, Alfie and Leffe in Surrey. They were absolutely gorgeous and so so cuddly - I could've done with 3 arms when they were all trying to get me to stroke them at once! It was so easy to walk all three and I was able to let Pip and Leffe off in the park :) Alfie was a bit of a flight risk despite only having three legs :p
All three managed to be ill while I was there, with some kind of bug they passed around, but the neighbours helped out with a vet visit for Leffe and taking a sample from Alfie and getting the meds he needed for the giardia he ended up with. So it was quite stressful but they're all totally fine now and despite being ill they were still adorable and I had a great time with them. As always I'll really miss them now!
