Weather is currently looking kind for those camping with us,

This past week's walks have been a warm one we have been walking in cooler tree areas,
We only walk family units, happy to walk reactive dogs, spending time bonding with shy dogs, happy to do puppy stop bys,

have confirmed Foxhound Welfare UK are one of their chosen rehoming partners for this year's 2024 sponsored dog walk, for every dog and their human we can get to walk, on the 18th May they will donate to us £5, so clear your diary and come along with us for one of our beach walks as the north east has some awesome coast lines,
There's even a chance of fish and chips or ice-cream,
We will be setting off from West hall boarding kennels, walking along to the broadwalk and down the beach front( dogs will have to be on lead for part of the walk on beach as beach rules)
We will have a couple of stalls back at base, with refreshments and a chance to win a couple of raffle prices or a hamper or two,
Any dogs is welcome as long as on lead and fit enough to take part in the walk,
If you don't have a dog and would like to walk one we know of some hounds who would enjoy the day out,

So today is a day to remember the loss of one of the firsts,
This is Penny working KC name" Penny returns most often".
She is the reason for all the rest that followed, she may of been one of our firsts but she showed me a better way for thinking, Training and thinking outside the box,
She was smart beautiful strong willed funny and social,

We said goodbye to her 26 April 2018 at the age of 16 years,
her lessons live on in Every hound and owner I help still, there is little she didn't do to prepare me for life with hounds,
She was my Dumfrieshire out cross Foxhound. we took to do obedience displays, school visits/brownie visits, breed display including crufts and the training clubs stooge dog, and the first blood donor of ours,
She was the hound that wasn't going to start but did and was forever loved for it,
She the reason nothing in the hound way of thinking shocks me,
She hunted for hours at East cram, she meet me back at the van it's where most would know her from, she was never aggressive and came into our lives after being ran over by her owner who thought not to teach her anything, she was carsick, not house trained, vocal, she was my first hunting the clean boot partner before mantrailing was popular and she would give anybreed a run for their money,
she was my first k9 scent dog for missing pets, and we got offered a open check once by a SAR company who wanted her, but she was MINE,
She showed people the hound breed is always what you put into them,, time care and effort and you would see the rewards,
She showed me you had to laugh at life otherwise you would cry and never learn anything,
She had 4 times nearly killing her self, but bounced back to everyone's surprise Inc the vets,
Longest stay in vet was 6 days,
I am still honoured to have had her in my life
And her legacy lives on in every "problematic" dog/ hound I help
