Massive thanks to all who have supported us since Sara first asked if anyone had a bit of spare pet food, you've all been so generous.
This morning I dropped off our remaining "stash" to St Cross Community Action/St Cross FoodBank who also pass on their thanks. ❤

Hey there everyone Happy Snow Day ☃️❄️.
UPDATE
I've now closed down the PayPal Money Pool and made the £395 donation to the Doodle Trust https://www.doodletrust.com/ who do great work with all poodle cross dogs. For transparency I've attached a screenshot of the donation.
We'd like to thank everyone for their support and hope that we've raised awareness during the recent tough times that our furry friends need a helping hand too.
Stay safe everyone and thanks again ❤️

Hi everyone, we hope you’re all well and staying safe.
We’d like to apologise for our ‘radio silence’, this has been due to us working and the demand for our support over recent months dropping off.
With demand lessening, we now find ourselves in a position with quite a healthy stock of cat and dog food that we would like to distribute rather than run the risk of it going out of date.
We would like to propose that any donations are donated to a local Food Bank where they can be distributed to families genuinely in need.
The Money Pool stands at a healthy £395 and we would like to close this down by the 31st January and donate to The Doodle Trust, which we’re sure will be put to good use.
We cannot express our thanks enough to everyone who has donated since we started this project. Whether your donation has been large or small, every single one has made a difference to someone’s much loved pet ❤.
There are many who say that a cat/dog is just an animal, but I’m sure you’ll all agree that that’s not how we see it. The love and comfort they give us keeps us going through many happy, difficult and more recently sad times.
Could you please let us have your thoughts on our proposals before Friday 22nd January.
Many thanks
Sara, Alexia & Lucy
(Pepsi & Dora ❤)

Meet Bella! (And Ben who helpfully held her for her five mins of fame) she was pleased to receive a food package today!
We are still here helping out quietly in the background as and when needed and probably don’t shout about it enough so here is a little cuteness for you.
Please do pass the word on that we are available to help out with Pets whilst times are still tough and we accept referrals to this page.
Thank you

Good morning everyone, apologies for the 'radio silence' the last week or two, we've been busy with family life, etc. Demand for our support has eased a little due to life slowly returning to 'normal' for some, but there is still a need our there for of our gorgeous furry friends. As we all, we're not out of the woods yet, so we will continue with our support until the end of October and review the situation then. I have a couple of cute pics that I'll post next. Thank you all for your continued support - Sara, Alex & Lucy

I have managed to feed two tiny kittens, a pregnant mother cat and two Toms and collect some donations too whilst I have been off though....
Will be back on it soon... watch this space!!

... and for those of you who don't know Sara, here she is 😁. Time management at it's best this morning, combining a play date and re-stocking her car with your generous donations.

As Sara is often busy dropping off food parcels etc, and identifying which furry friends need our support she doesn't always get chance to take a picture of them, so we thought we'd share a photo showing the beautiful friendship that Dora and Pepsi.

Hello everyone, firstly apologies for the delay in getting an update to you. Sara has been busy over the past few weeks. Last week 4 cats and 3 dogs certainly had full tummies, with a few dogs receiving treats 😁.
We've received a few more donations which we are very grateful for and will get these re-distributed to furry friends & their pawrents who still need that extra support during these difficult times.

No rain fell on this amazing young lady today.
We owe a special thanks to Amelia who raised a whopping £100 for our furry friends with her "guess how many sweets are in the jar?" challenge.
Thanks also to all who supported her 😊👏.

Hi everyone,
Just a little update on this weeks gifting...
I have supplied dog treats to three households who’s owners were just managing the basic food but couldn’t afford the little extras that we know are much needed for our lovely furry friends.
I supplied one dog with a weeks dry complete food and two packs of treats.
I supplied one lady with a rather cute long haired Persian cat with some Dreamies and a couple of trays of wet food to top her up on her small shop, we don’t want the poor cat being hungry being on basic rations.
This is all possible due to your generosity and kindness and we are all very grateful to have your support.
No pics this week, sorry!
Will try harder next week...

Woohoo, not only is it the weekend but the sun is shining 😃. It's been less than a week since we started this project and so much has been achieved in such a short period of time. Totalling cash and the money pool, we have exceeded our goal of £300, with a current total of £305 😃🐾.
In addition, we have a healthy stock of donated food & treats which is currently awaiting distribution to those most in need. Thanks to each and everyone one of you, you've all been amazing ❤️🐾. Please continue to LIKE & SHARE our page.

We'd like to introduce our own pets for you to hopefully brighten up what can only be described as a damp & dismal evening. We have the handsome Pepsi and beautiful but bonkers Dora. They enjoy meeting up and putting the world to rights 😂. Mentos is Dora's boss!

We're aware that some pets are raw fed and would recommend Stef and her team for all your needs. If you have any questions about transitioning to raw, she's a fountain of knowledge. As a raw feeder she's helped me with a few dietary issues with Dora the Explorer. https://www.stefspetpantry.com/

How did we come to be?
Sara Clayton-Smithson, an active member of the community has been volunteering with the COVID19 relief effort, taking emergency food parcels out to families in LS27/LS26/WF3 who are struggling to make ends meet. She soon noticed that family pets were not being provided for adequately so wanted to do something about it.
Being the caring person she is (aka big softie), she started buying additional food, treats, biscuits etc to give to the families so their pet(s) would be comfortable too.
This has now blossomed into project Furry Friends Covid Relief Fund.
If you can spare any dog/cat food, treats or biscuits please do consider donating them to us or make a donation to our fund to buy what is needed at the time.
All monies that remain once the project finishes will be donated to the Doodle Trust who do amazing work!
This page has been set up to co-ordinate our efforts and to let you know how your money has been spent and the pets you have helped. We hope that you will join us in making a difference .🐾🐾🐾
We believe in playing to our strengths. Sara is doing the frontline graft, identifying which pets require our support and delivering supplies during her volunteer role, while Alexia Blohm-Pain is working behind the scenes stock taking, managing the fund, purchasing supplies. To make up the team is Lucy Murray, a fellow dog lover who admits to preferring animals to people. She is a woman of many hidden talents who will no doubt help keep this ‘ship sailing in the right direction’.
