We need some help with donations into Norfolks PayPal and some feed from our Amazon wish lists if anyone can please help. It has been a very busy few days with piggies being surrendered. We had 4 boars come in a couple of days ago and this morning while I was at the performing arts group I help run we had another 2 boars come in and a sow earlier this afternoon. Funds are extremely low for us and we would really appreciate some help stocking things up. Could you help us?
Photos and videos will get put on later so you can all see the beautiful piggies but I need to nip out while it’s still ok to get some forage for all the rescue piggies we have in.

I am back from spending the half term holiday week with 4 of my granddaughter’s, I have 9 grandchildren so far. It has been a busy but fun filled week but sadly no piggies for me the entire week. One of the younger granddaughters has started saying the name of an adult then saying what they are but I won’t go into detail, anyway she got to me and said GRANDMA IS A GUINEA PIG! I’ve been called some things before but never a guinea pig 🤣
So now I am back I will get on with making our videos to post on our TikTok’s, Instagrams and X showing more of our lovely rescue piggies. Would you like to have your piggies added to one of our videos? If the answer is yes then please send us photos or short reels with your piggies looking stunning for doing something cute or funny. Please remember we do not allow photos of piggies with any other animals or wearing a costume it has to just be the piggies. If you would like their name or yours to on them let me have those details and I will get them sorted for you. Let’s show the world how much we all love our piggies 🥰

Do you know we have an affiliate link with Natures Own?
On the topic of hay today, I wanted to share how mine (Cloe Cantore) and Daniel Cantore’s boys live with all their hay. We give them unlimited access and they love it so much. We buy 5 bales a month from Natures Own, using the affiliate link, and it only costs us £20.95. Postage is free! And the best part is Iggle Piggle gets funds to help the many piggies we have in our care. Plus, you get lovely little messages on your delivery note! What’s more to love?
Here is our link: https://naturesownpets.co.uk/?affiliate=16924
They also do a natural cleaner that is perfect for cleaning piggies cages and around the house!

Some useful information 😊
Types of hay .
Time and time again we all see discussions of hay and as we all know hay so important to piggies it should be 80% of there diet ideally placed in piles around there cage they literally eat, sleep and wee in there hay
Meadow :-
Meadow hay is a more generic hay. It consists of a variety of grasses and quite often bits of other plants as well which piggie love to rummage through it can come course or fine which is no problem for piggies and also tends to be cheaper .
Timothy :-
is most often used as a cattle/ horse feed as it's Its low protein, high fiber, and high energy content make it easily digestible.
It is is a grass hay. Grass hay differs from legumes in that it is composed of long, hollow stems that grow up to 60 inches tall with leaves that can grow up to 17 inches. The heads (inflorescence) of timothy hay are usually 3-6 inches long and are densely packed with spikelets that flower when mature can be very expensive to buy
Rye:-
Perennial ryegrass is the most commonly grown productive grass in the UK, used particularly for livestock grazing and forage. It has been the subject of plant breeding for over 60 years, ensuring there are a wide range of perennial ryegrass varieties available commercially. Perennial ryegrass is the most persistent ryegrass, lasting up to 6 years. It lasts considerably longer than the higher yielding Italian and westerwolds ryegrasses. It’s flexible in use, because it can be grazed or cut and made into silage, haylage or hay later in the season. Many varieties are bred especially for their palatability and digestibility. Varieties that seed later in the season are best for grazing.
Orchard :-
is a flat leaf bladed perennial, cool season, tall-growing grass. Our orchard grass is high in fiber and low in protein to help support a healthy digestive tract. The leaves vary from green to bluish green depending on the maturity of the plant.
Alfalfa :-Is a high-fiber legume hay. It has the same long-strand fiber found in grass hays, only it has more protein, energy and calcium. In general alfalfa has 120% more energy than oat hay. alfalfa hay is very fine stemmed and should be w**d free with lots of color. All sizes of animals love alfalfa hay including rabbits, goats, sheep, horses and cattle. This hay can be used with young or pregnant piggies and as a treat hay to adults .
Oat :- Oat hay is a grass hay, and its energy/calorie and protein levels are similar to timothy The vitamin A level in oat hay is higher than other grass hays

Wow what an adventure we have had today! We have 4 boars and 2 tiny sows who are on pregnancy watch as boars were in with them. The other lady who made this possible got 7 sows out so that’s 13 plus the pups from the litters. All sows on pregnancy watch and most are babies themselves. There are still more but we have to wait and see. We have not been able to catch the other boar who has been abandoned when his owners moved out but we are hopeful and determined. We need help getting extra supplies in so donations would be absolutely amazing as would items from our Amazon wish lists. Please help us if u can as we are hitting our busiest months now as summer ends and people loose interest in piggies.
