Hi everyone! As some of you know I recently started a position as a high school teacher! I am so thrilled with this new chapter and can’t wait to teach all the kiddos.
This being said, I have decided to make the incredibly difficult decision to stop dog sitting. As a teacher I will have long days and would not be able to be home as much as I would like with the dogs to be able to pet sit.

For those who already have bookings with me, I am still good to keep those! I will make adjustments as needed to accommodate to fulfill those needs.

However, as of now I will not be taking any further bookings.

I have immensely enjoyed watching everyone’s pups and they have made such a positive impact in my life!

I appreciate your understanding with this change as I focus on myself, my career, and my family!

Hi everyone!

Those who follow my personal account may know that I decided to leave my PhD with a Masters degree and will be finishing up to graduate in May. This change is best for me right now as I was not thriving in the place I was in.

That being said, I will be starting a 9-5 job sometime in May or June (place and exact start TBD). With this change I will have to reduce the number of hounds I am able to dogsit and primarily only be able to accommodate those who don’t have separation anxiety as I will no longer have the flexibility of schedule/work from home as I did with my former position.

I hope you all understand and will support me during this change!

Happy Holidays from Camp Greyhound!!! As we approach the New Year (holy cow), I wanted to give some updates!

Just as a reminder, I will be out of town December 21st until the 29th, I apologize for any inconvenience and understand finding a dog sitter is hard during the holidays!

I am happy to take any new and returning greys in the New Year! If you are booking with me, please fill out the google form pinned on this page (I will also include it in the comments of this post).

Speaking of the new year, Camp Greyhound is welcoming another resident!! My partner and I are adopting a kitten in January and are very excited!
This being said, as most of the Camp Greyhound campers are cat safe, I will be watching closely and “retesting” some of the greyhounds with this new kitten (who will likely not be afraid of greyhounds since they will be around them so much). For the greyhounds who are a bit more cat-curious, I will discuss plans with you individually.
For all greyhounds staying with me, I do ask that you bring their muzzle with them, especially with the new kitten around just in case.

Thank you all for such a wonderful year with your hounds! I truly love each and every one of your sweet hounds and can’t wait for what 2023 has in store!

Hi Everyone! I’ve gotten some new followers and clients lately so I thought I’d do a little introduction!

My name is Samantha and I am the face behind Camp Greyhound! I started dogsitting almost a year and a half ago after getting my greyhound, Evie, in October of 2020!
I am originally from Cary, NC just down the road from where I am now in Durham. I went to undergrad in Knoxville, Tennessee at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (Go Vols!) and in 2020 after graduating undergrad I began my PhD at Duke University studying Environmental Health and Toxicology! I am currently a 3rd year PhD student working toward my degree with a few more years left.

Outside of my PhD and watching everyone’s pups, I love being outside, watching the Carolina Hurricanes, tending to my 100+ houseplants (let me know if you’d like cuttings haha), cuddling with my 2 Siamese kitties, and being with my partner and family!

I absolutely love what I do and wouldn’t change a thing! Hope you enjoyed getting to know me and let me know if you have any questions. ❤️

Hey y’all! Please be mindful about your dog’s health as they are getting dropped off with me! As you all know, I often have multiple dogs staying with me and I would be beside myself if anything bad happened to these sweet pups! If your dog seems ill, please keep them home!
Numerous dogs in the triangle have passed from this so please do your part in preventing spread!

Hi everyone!!

What a great summer it’s been watching everyone’s hounds and enjoying the nice cool air conditioning!

Just some updates going into the Fall for anyone looking to book or any new clients!

I will be out of town from September 30th-October 3rd for a wedding.
I will be out of town from October 7th to the 12th for vacation.

I will not be here for Christmas so unfortunately won’t be able to book any clients for that timeframe.

I am always happy to have new pups stay with me so please message me if you have interest in boarding with me! Cat friendly please 🙂 (happy to cat test of unsure)!

I’ve recently gotten lots of questions and inquiries regarding my rates…

I leave my dogsitting rate up to the owner. I know every dog is different in regards to needs and temperament so I want the owner to use their best judgement! The average tends to be around $25-$30/dog/day but I am happy to discuss further on an individual basis!

At the end of the day I just love watching these animals and it brings me so much joy!
