« Sweet GRETEL has been waiting since July for a forever family. She is fostered Cambridge, Ontario. She is microchipped, spayed, vaccinated and born March 1, 2011. Who is going to scoop this lovely lady up and love her forever?
At 9-years old, Gretel is ready for the simple life. She just wants a window to sit by and a person to hang out with. Someone who won't get upset because she eats every meal like she's competing in the most important pie-eating competition ever. To contend with the mess, she has a placemat and a giant dog food bowl to eat out of and she tries her best to keep the mess contained. She loves her food and is very affectionate at mealtimes. Gretel would be best-off in a home with no other animals and no small children.
Gretel has occasional bouts of diarrhea as a result of having hyperthyroidism. Her problem is chronic and she will need lifelong medication twice daily -- luckily the medication only costs around $20/month and Gretel is easy to give pills once she's comfy with you. She also needs to stay on a vet food diet (which costs around the same as any high-quality food). Gretel is definitely worth the extra effort!

« Senior Victoria is as lovely and regal as her namesake suggests. She is hoping to get adopted into her forever family... will you adopt her?
Victoria has been spayed, vaccinated and was born April 22, 2010. Despite her years, Victoria loves to play fetch with a foam ball and will faithfully chase you around pre and post breakfast/dinner.
In the morning, she might lightly paw your leg for some love. During the day Victoria keeps to herself - usually by way of laying under a blanket or soaking up the sun next to a window or skylight. She’ll welcome you stopping by her "office" for a quick chin scratch and will politely turn back into the blanket when she’s had enough.
In the evening she will usually find a spot on your desk chair or couch to sleep, but will sometimes sit near your bed and stand guard until morning. Victoria is an extremely sweet kitty looking to bask in the glory of a quiet peaceful forever home. Will it be yours?

« For a volunteer day coming soon: MORE wood chipping for the big pigs.
We took so many tractor bucket loads of mud out of their area, and thought we had lots of wood chips, but we need way more!
Soon we will rent a wood chipper again and start pulling fallen trees from the forest to help soak up all the muck. Pigs love mud! It is their sunscreen and a way of keeping themselves cool in the hot months. But, too much mud can cause foot problems!
Luckily, Tilly does not have mud-related foot issues, but with a cracked hoof (😭😣) the mud does put her at a higher risk for getting an infection. We called all the tree companies we could find, but no one will deliver wood chips to us. (Cont’d)

« Last night we took in 7 orphaned babies who lost their mom yesterday morning. They’re around 2 weeks old and were very wrinkly, indicating they hadn’t had a meal in a bit. Jordan came over to help me feed them last night, and when I say help me I mean she did most of the feeding because she’s much better at it (and has more patience!!!) Thankfully all of the babies are still alive this morning but some are quite small so they’re not out of the woods yet. I took in these bunnies not knowing where we’re going to put them because we still need fosters for some of the other buns we already have, and I knew in the back of my mind we likely wouldn’t be able to bring them to a shelter because they’re FULL!

Once these babies are stable and off kitten milk, we’ll need fosters for them too. They’re flemmie/New Zealand mixes so they will be large buns. Normally myself or two of our volunteers can make space for emergency fosters but all of us are already OVER capacity. We’ll need to find foster homes for the babies within the next 2 weeks - even if 1 foster has the space to house all 7 babies until they can be gendered at 8 weeks old, that will work, and then we can separate them into different foster homes. We will provide you with ALL of the supplies you need and cover all veterinary costs! You just need to be able to get the buns to and from the vet either in (our main vet) or . 🚑

Two beautiful bunnies to feature on this Tuesday! This momma and daughter duo really, really need a foster home, so if you have space in your heart ❤️ and home 🏡 for a little while 👉 can you help hem out?
*SO* many bunnies get dumped outdoors and have a really rough time trying to fend for themselves.
Not everyone understands that domestic bunnies are very different from wild bunnies. They may think that setting their bunnies free to live in the wild is a nice thing to do, but in fact it is a very cruel practice.
Lots of rescues are out there *constantly* rescuing domestic rabbits who are very scared and suffering . But they can ONLY rescue as many as they have room for, so please, please consider fostering for a little while! Or even adopting a sweet bunny friend! (Or two!)🐰🥰

« Meet Mama Hope and baby Honey! They had their wellness checks at the vet today:
Mama Hopey is estimated to be around 3 years old but could be slightly younger - her body has been through so much so that could make her appear older than she really is. All of the folds and lumps are just extra skin - she likely was a lot heavier then lost weight really quickly - possibly due to having to fend for herself outside. Her dewlap is very large and similar to Clementine’s - both consistent with being bred over and over again. 😔
Baby Honey is about 5-6 months old. 👶🏻
Both of them appear to have a very mild case of ear mites which is being treated, and the bottoms of their feet are just filthy. From what we can tell, they don’t have any obvious medical concerns - just mentally traumatized. 🥺 We’re sure they came from a meat farm and were being kept in poor conditions and not socialized. Honey is the more nervous one of the two - Hope is nervous but looooves being petted - they will need some TLC to help them build trust and become comfortable.
We are looking for a foster home with space suitable for these two larger ladies. They’re catching on to litter habits quickly but still prefer to p*e just beside their litter box (it’s only been a few days so understandable).

Lilah is a real beauty! She is a marble tabby and white kitten with multi-coloured paws! Her soft fur and loud purrs never fail to make us awe. She came to us feral but now she is a kitten that loves to cuddle and take long naps with fluffy blankets. Lilah is just the sweetest. She is not the biggest fan of being carried or petted when in a playful mood. She might take a bit of time to warm up but that doesn’t stop her from being the loving kitten she is. Happy from the Haliburton Wolf Centre, which is located in (yup, you guessed it!) , ON.

This centre is home to 7 adult Grey wolves and 4 pups who reside in a 15 acre enclosure with no human interaction.

Visitors can see the wolves through an observation deck or through the live cams depending where the wolves are on the property during their visit.

The goal of this wolf centre is to provide research & education on these formidable animals, and to inspire the conservation and protection of wolves in Canada. 🐺❤️🇨🇦
