We’ve been part of more than our fair share of stories and memories. We’ve seen little ones touch and feed horses for the first time. We’ve seen precious memories resurrected by the unmistakable smell of a barn and familiar feel of a warm, soft nose. Today was a first. Congratulations and Hunter. Thank you for letting us be part of your story.

We had a fantastic morning shooting with our new friends Courtney and Hunter. The horses got their alfalfa fee, Kingston got to experience the Way, Way Back pasture, and Duke got to grade unencumbered for the first time in three months. The whole shoot was 🔥🔥🔥🔥.

We finally welcomed Kingston home this afternoon. Julie bought King as her first horse in 2017. He became Blu’s horse in 2018 when Julie bought Duke. When we changed barns in 2023, we sold him to the lesson program with the stipulation that he be returned to us when he retired. Even though he still was a star of the lesson program at 19 yrs old, we decided we needed him here. We borrowed a trailer and drove to Danville, Kentucky to buy him back. Welcome to Boudreaux’s, Kingston. We’ve missed you.

I’d like to imagine Belle’s pause was more than cursory glance to see if the phone in my hand could be a carrot or some other form of treat, but I know her motives too well. This horse wants treats and little else matters.
