Shear Love will be permanently closed after October 22, 2023.

It is with a heavy heart that I am hanging up my smock and leaving the dog grooming industry. I have been grooming for over seven years now and it has helped me grow and I learned so much. I started grooming as a way to support myself as I earned my bachelor's degree. However when I finally got my degree, I found myself unable to leave behind grooming because I had found such incredible amounts of appreciation through loving your dogs. Owning this business for the last year and a half has given me the confidence to take that leap of faith and try to break into a new industry. Thank you to all my loyal clients. I will miss your dogs!
All appointments after Oct 22 will be canceled; No exceptions.

Spring time suet feeders full of dog hair so birds can use it to insulate their nests 🐣🌸

I always feel bad about the amount of dog hair I send to landfills.. Maybe I should start handing these out to clients 🤔 Dog hair also helps keep deer out of your gardens. Let me know if anyone would like some! 😂😅

I just wanted to take a moment to shout out a local Fairview groomer and neighbor of mine, Rachel Davis with Auntie's Grooming. Her grooms are beautiful and she genuinely cares for her 'floofs'. 🥰 It's so rare to find someone who gives their whole heart in working with dogs. With me going fully mobile in June, I want to recommend my clients who would prefer an in-home salon situation to reach out to her while she is still accepting new clients! 🐩💗

After doing some market research, I learned that the average rate for mobile groomers in Nashville ranges from $100-$120/hour. Additionally, this past year I have been struggling with carpel tunnel and nerve damage caused by my 6 years of grooming. These two factors have lead me to the conclusion that I need to value my grooming higher. Beginning in June, I am going raise my mobile grooming prices to a flat $110/hour instead of my current $65/hour + $30 travel fee. This rate will be effective immediately after June 1, and will still apply to those who already have appointments scheduled for June. Additionally, I will no longer be scheduling home base appointments, and instead focusing my time and resources on mobile grooming exclusively. I understand that this change will cause some clients to need to find another groomer. My hope in notifying clients this early is that they will have adequate time to make adjustments without getting their dogs' off track on their grooming schedules. I hope my clients can understand why I am making this change, and that I can continue to service the dogs I have grown to love as my own. Feel free to text me with any questions or concerns.

My goal for 2023 is to really focus on bettering my grooming skills and abilities. This month I focused on ears, which I consider to be a problem area of mine. Swayze was the perfect model to try out this adorable round ear technique I learned on YouTube. Every little detail matters when it comes to a good groom, and I look forward to using this technique to make all of my doodle clients look that much cuter. 💕

Unfortunately there are only so many days in a month. In order to keep everyone on their regular schedules, I can no longer take new clients. Thank you to all of my clients for recommending me to their friends and family. Word of mouth has proven to be the best advertising. 🐶
