This week we said our final goodbyes to our beloved pup of eleven years, Wilbur Doo. As all of our pet loving clients and friends know it is extremely difficult to lose a furry family member. Please know we sincerely appreciate all the kind messages and words of encouragement. We may be a little slower to respond to text messages, emails, and upcoming appointment requests at this time as we navigate the grieving process. Thanks again for your kindness and understanding during this difficult time ❤️🐾🌈

While using an app to find a pet sitter or dog walker may seem like a quick, convenient way to secure pet care, Pet Sitters International encourages pet parents to seek out the services of a ⭐locally owned, professional pet-sitting or dog-walking business.⭐

PSI offers these tips for pet parents looking for a professional pet-sitting or dog-walking service:

1️⃣ Don’t prioritize convenience over quality. 👉Pet parents should not let click-and-select convenience of online sites overshadow the importance of due diligence when selecting a pet sitter or dog walker. Any pet lover can post their services online for a cheap price, but professional pet-care providers will have the training, credentials and insurance coverage needed to provide excellent pet care and protect clients and their homes.

2️⃣ Be specific about your needs. 👉Professional pet sitters and dog walkers typically have a variety of available service options, so be upfront about your schedule and your needs, whether those include daily dog walks, enrichment visits for your cat, daily potty breaks for a new puppy, or occasional visits due to your hybrid-work schedule. Many pet sitters and dog walkers offer package options for pet parents who need regular visits each week and some even provide activities like hiking excursions for more active dog breeds.

3️⃣ Meet the pet sitter in person first. 👉PSI always recommends pet parents schedule an initial consultation or “meet and greet” at their home—with pets present—before booking pet-care services. This allows the pet parent to meet the pet sitter and see them interact with their pets; review the sitter’s services, credentials and business practices; and make sure they are the best fit for their family.

4️⃣ Ask the right questions. 👉Pet parents can download a free pet-sitter interview checklist from PSI at www.petsit.com/locate. This checklist includes seven important questions you should ask any pet sitter or dog walker that you are considering hiring.

Patti has worked in finance and healthcare for over 40 years, and now that she is retired she enjoys pet sitting to keep her active.

Patti realized she may have a knack for professional pet sitting after her ‘grand-dog’ Deja gave birth to a litter of puppies. The new mom only trusted Patti and her nurturing demeanor to feed her and care for her pups after they were born.

This week we are showcasing one of the newest additions to the Pawsitive Vibes team…Jesse!

Growing up Jesse wasn’t able to have pets due to his dad’s allergies, so he has been pet sitting for years to get his fur baby fix. Now that he lives on his own he has several pets that he considers his family.

Jesse has experience administering medication including insulin injections and has cared for a wide variety of animals including birds, chameleons, rabbits and turtles. When it comes to canine clients Jesse has no breed restrictions, he loves them all!

We had a blast volunteering at Ponderosa Menagerie (OnlyFarmFans.com) today! We got to socialize and handle a variety of animals to get them ready for farm visitors. Goober is looking for a new home! He is currently residing in a small apartment alone for long hours in Charlotte, NC. His owner wants to find him a home that can give him the attention he deserves.

Goober is a 65 pound husky / coonhound mix & is right around 1 year old. He would LOVE a back yard (or frequent long walks) and a playmate or two if possible. He loves children & other pets. Goob enjoys a game of fetch & knows some commands. He is potty trained, neutered, UTD on shots, been on heart worm prevention meds & is microchipped. He received an excellent report card from doggie day care and the staff described him as “a happy, playful boy that gets along great with all the other pups!” Goober is a very handsome boy with beautiful markings. He has one blue eye & one brown.

His current owner will provide all his current supplies, necessaries & extras. He was originally found in the woods but has been welll loved/cared for since Sept. 2022.

Please SHARE Goober and if you or someone you know is interested in adopting or fostering him please reach out and we will get you in contact with Goober’s support team. His team is open to transporting Goober to his new home within reason.
