Welcome Bowie to the Puppy Start Right program. In his first 24 hours here he’s already learned about crating in new environments, pottying in the rain, meeting new friends (dogs and people), working for food and manual labor (resetting the barn hunting course).

He’s a really lovely boy with an excellent temperament that I’m excited to work with. I’m also very happy to have helped guide his owner in his search for a reputable breeder of this rare breed. Can you guess what he is?

As a reminder, dogs are wearing Garmin GPS trackers which do not have a stim feature. They only track location for an extra level of security while dogs enjoy off leash freedom.

UPDATE: Classes are full. Thank you everyone!

Very excited to announce that GKC will be offering barn hunt classes! In Barn Hunt, dogs locate rats (safely enclosed in aerated tubes) hidden in a straw/hay bale maze. It is a great outlet for dogs who have prey drive or dogs who just like to use their nose.

Classes will start April 4th.

Private lessons will also be available on a limited basis for dogs who might struggle in a class environment.

Two weeks into Tuesday through Friday Day Training and I cannot believe that this is my life.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing dogs do what they were meant to do- run freely in nature.

Helping them be more comfortable in the world through training is just the cherry on top!
