Our weekend at the Pink Ribbon Dressage Show was a success!
It was a weekend filled with many firsts… and many goals that were set have been accomplished. As a new professional… it was my first time showing someone else’s horse and my first show since regionals with Mikey last October.
Terri trusted me with her steed, Sarko. Terri was my first client upon arriving in Pensacola and has trusted me with guiding her through her riding since the beginning of July. What fun we have had since then! Sarko was dealing with some horse show jitters, so I had the pleasure of presenting him to the Judge. By Sunday he was calm, cool, and collected. We did basic walk-trot equitation classes, achieving a 71.6 on Saturday and a 76.6 on Sunday bringing home two blue ribbons!
Harlind Equestrian Center and owner, Linda Williams gave me the privilege of piloting Del Rey, an 8 year old Hanoverian. Our journey together began in August and this was our first ever trip off the property together. This horse seriously has the BEST brain. He was a bit tense but became a bit more relaxed each day. We brought home blue ribbons each day with a 68.7 on Saturday and a 71.85 on Sunday! We also got high point for all of first level this weekend!!!
I could not be happier with the way the weekend went. Both horses truly exceeded my expectations and I can’t wait to see where we go from here! We are looking forward to our next show in December… hopefully with more horses riding under Riptide Sporthorses!
Thank you to the judge, scribes, show staff and volunteers… and a special thanks to Ashleigh from the Harlind team that took exceptional care of the horses this weekend. I am so excited to grow with these horses and show the world what we are made of! It can only get better from here!
