There’s a grim video circulating showing a dog trained to go to their bed using an E-collar. I have no idea why you would want or need to do that when you can train it like this. Thanks demo team - Lindsey & Seren - members of the Confident Dog Club. The club is reopening next month if you’d like to join our Life Skills sessions. 🐾❤️🐾

Sophie has a BSc (Hons) Canine Clinical Behaviour and since graduating has pursued a career in scent detection. Please read a little about Sophie below -
"My diverse background spans from sports to working dogs. With a career beginning at a young age, I have had a varied start from agility dogs to assistance and then to the world of detection!
My scent work journey began with Dash, my English Springer Spaniel, I qualified as a dual-purpose dog handler searching for drugs and pyrotechnics in a variety of settings from racecourses to football stadiums.
I later progressed to become a puppy trainer for a world-leading detection dog supplier. In this role, my responsibilities encompassed many different aspects from whelping, raising litters, environmental and foundation training to prepare the puppies for detection work. Now, eager to share my passion for scent work, I have embarked on a new journey to establish my own venture -Wizz Dog Training.

A belated Congratulations post to these superstars who are in the Friday afternoon Confident Dog Club. Well done to Jack, Murri and Martha on achieving the Gold APDT - Association of Pet Dog Trainers Good Companion Award and Honey, who joined the group later, on achieving the Intermediate Good Companion Award. You have all worked very hard whilst keeping it fun.
The Confident Dog Club will be accepting new members from September. We work on life skills, coping around other dogs; some trick training and movement puzzles and lots of enrichment activities. As a Full Member of APDT - Association of Pet Dog Trainers I assess the awards as you work through them so there is no pressure or external examiner. Yesterday morning we ran the first Beginners Movement Puzzles workshop. Thanks everyone who came, you worked so well together. Rocco, Liska, Rafa, Jack, Pablo and Ben were brilliant and picked up the Foundation exercises quickly. Looking forward to seeing you progress in the next workshop.

We are running two tasters - 9-10am and 10.30-11.30am - with Kev McGee, a highly experienced and skilled Hoopers competitor, trainer and judge. Summer Movement Puzzle Workshops Movement puzzles are a fun, interactive way to build your dog's proprioception (body awareness); problem solving skills and overall confidence around objects. You don't need lots of equipment or much space. Open to all breeds. Dogs need to be fully vaccinated and comfortable working in our secure field with other dogs. Only 4 dogs in each group so lots of space available. Each workshop is 90 minutes long and costs £30. 6 week Beginners Hoopers Course Starts Thursday 14th March 6.30-7.30pm Reaseheath Equestrian Centre Indoor Arena. 2 spots left Hoopers is a distance handling sport and is great for building communication and connection between dog and owner as it's about your team work. Accessible for all breeds and handlers - we don't run in Hoopers! The dogs learn to negotiate a course of hoops, barrels, tunnels and mats. There is no jumping and no working at height; courses are flowing so no sharp turns or changes of pace.
