This is an X-ray of a dog’s bent front leg. See that tiny white spec? That’s a microchip! It has migrated down the leg....far from where it was inserted, between the dog’s shoulders. This is actually quite common.....

When lost pets are scanned, the entire body should be scanned to catch any that have migrated. But, as an owner, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AT THEIR YEARLY VET EXAM, to ask for a quick scan to make sure that:

(1) the chip is still working,
(2) the location of the chip is good,
(3) that the chip info is correct,
(4) you’ve actually REGISTERED your chip (with the chip company) and it’s current and active.

Remember microchips save lives and reunite families with their pet.... just have it checked regularly!

We will be at Self Serve Pet Spa 7950 White Lane Unit A from 10:00-2:00 this Saturday the 28th with some of our available pups. Come find your new family member and stock up on your pet’s essentials at your local pet spa and supply.

We helped Lady cross the Rainbow Bridge today. 💔🌈 Her bad days were simply outnumbering the good anymore. She has been with us the majority of her life and has surpassed all expectations for her. When she was violently attacked by a dog, she wasn’t supposed to live. Her quality of life was expected to be poor because of her brain damage. But she proved all wrong, her life was amazing. She was the happiest, sweetest, and adventurous girl. Even later in life when she started suffering seizures and other issues, you couldn’t stop her. She made a mark on all of our lives. You were amazing Lady and we are thankful that your life was spent with us. Your bestie, Rottie is waiting for you on the other side along with so many others that crossed before you. Rest in Peace Lady Bug. 🐾

The results are in! Not what I expected lol, I was convinced that she had some kind of Spaniel in there. Our girl is a true mutt for sure! A mix of Chihuahua, Small Poodle, Miniature Pinscher, “Supermutt” ( Maltese, Miniature Schnauzer and Dachshund were identified), Pomeranian, and Pekingese. Wow!!

New arrivals… found left in a box by a Good Samaritan. These little cuties were covered in ticks, starving, and full of worms (already started treating). 😕 They will be having a visit with our vet asap. We aren't too sure about the breed mix, especially since they all look so different. Each staff member has a conflicting opinion lol. I've never met a more stoic and shut-down dog than Winter. She came to us in early December with her eight puppies. It has been a patient fight to gain her trust and trying to get her to open up and we've got a way to go still. It's been a bit more difficult since her puppies were transported down south with Pit Opotumus Puppy Rescue a couple of weeks ago. We are dedicated to helping this sweet girl reach her full potential and find her way to a forever home.
