Chandler is still looking for his forever family.
He is up to date on all vaccines, monthly preventatives, crate trained, potty trained, and microchipped.

He does fine with kids, cats and does decent with dogs but seems to not mesh well with certain dogs. I think it’s best that he’s the only dog or has a family who would be willing to spend time/money on a trainer if needed.
There is no 💲, but he will be on a neuter contract where he is to be neutered when he is of age.

We took a road trip to Oklahoma City to the Oklahoma Summer Classic where we got Chanel’s OFA echocardiogram done - she passed 🥳
She did so well with all the dogs and all the people. So much fun!
We plan on getting her hips tested later this year and we “may” breed her next year 🤍

He is living his best life on a lake in Michigan 🤩 he is now a boat dog and boy, does he love it!

Chandler will be 9 months old in a few weeks. He is a big tall boy with the sweetest disposition ever. He is potty trained, crate trained, dog door trained, up to date on all vaccines, monthly preventatives, and microchipped- pretty much the whole package 😉
Chandler will need to be neutered when he is old enough.

Chandler is the perfect example of why you should never ever pass on a runt or smaller puppy out of the litter in fear that they may be smaller than they should be. When chandler was born he was only 7oz, his litter mates all weighing average birth weight of 1lb 4oz- 1lb 9oz. He was perfectly healthy, just a small little guy (with such a big litter, this can happen sometimes). Chandler was the smartest puppy in the entire litter and knew how to both sit and shake by the age of 4-5 weeks old (see pic below). He started blowing my mind the minute I laid eyes on him and never stopped!
Chandler stayed the smallest the whole 8 weeks I had him but I knew it wouldn’t take long for him to catch up, and boy, was I right! Chandler is now as big as his siblings if not bigger than some at 8.5 months old.

So, take my advice and don’t judge a puppy being small, I promise 9 times out of 10 they grow up to be as big, if not bigger 😉 The genetics are still there regardless!

So far since he has been here he has completely settled in. He loves people and has had no issues with our dogs. He is more on the laid back side besides random moments when he wants to play (he is still a puppy even though he doesn’t look it) . He does well in the car and does well on a leash. He does have a tendency to pull on the leash especially if the other dogs are playing and he’s on the leash, but nothing major. In my opinion, he’s the definition of a Velcro Dane- he wants to be in your pocket and doesn’t pay any mind to anything else going on around him.

If you are looking to skip the early puppy stage, this is the boy for you!

Our pack has welcomed Chandler back in with open arms and Chandler is doing really well with a new pack and slowly settling in 👏🏼
We have spent the past few days evaluating him and are looking for a new family for him. If you think you may be a good fit, don’t hesitate to reach out!

PS- Sabella is on a leash because she partially tore her ACL a few weeks ago doing zoomies in the yard. She has not been cleared by the vet yet to be free just yet 🤣🙈

We got Chandler back today. The male from Sabella and Magnum. So far he is doing very well! He could care less about the other dogs and is a very sweet boy. I will be assessing him over the next few days and hope to find the perfect home for this big guy!

He is 8 months old, kennel trained, dog door trained and potty trained. Up to date on all vaccines and preventatives. He is also microchipped.

Just got updates on Shirley Marie! She is from our Sabella X Magnum litter as well. Her mama says she loves the water, talking to her dog friend next door, and squeezing in between her brothers seats in the car. She also said they will be getting a bigger SUV soon so she fits better 🤣🤪🥰

We have an 8 month old piebald male coming back due to no fault of his own. He is from our Sabella and Magnum litter. He is a lot like his daddy! I will get updated pics of him once he is here.
Once I assess him, he will be on the hunt for his forever 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦.

He is potty trained, dog door trained, crate trained and up to date on all vaccines and monthly prevention. His current family say’s he is super super sweet.

We will be advocating for gastropexy and teaching others about GDV (bloat) in honor of our boy Magnum who we tragically lost this past Sunday 💔 Our hearts are shattered and we still have not grasped the fact that he is no longer with us. It feels like a nightmare we just can’t wake up from.

I feel like a lot of people are unaware of what GDV (bloat) is and since it is extremely common in our breed and any deep chested breed of that matter, I want to point some things out so you can try to do what you can to lower the risk of it happening to your babies and know the signs of when it is happening so you can rush to your vet.

Roughly 42% of Great Danes will experience GDV in their lifetime. Risk factors include deep chested breeds, stress/fearful temperament, older than 5 years, thin/lean body condition, stress, hyperactivity, eating fast, exercising after meals, eating only one meal a day, eating dry kibble, and restricting water intake before or after meals.

They can’t really determine exactly what causes bloat as there’s just too many factors. We always rest before and after meals for one hour and we rehydrate their food. Magnum started to bloat Sunday evening long after he had, had dinner and rested. I feel for his case it was more of a stress factor as he was stressed and worked up due to one of our females being in heat. Being caught as it was happening, and us doing our best to rush to the nearest ER vet- magnum declined very fast and his prognosis for making it through the surgery was very low.

What gives your dog the best odds?

Prophylactic Gastropexy gives your dogs the best odds at surviving GDV. Gastropexy is where the stitch (tack) the stomach to the abdominal wall to help keep it from flipping. Gastropexy won’t prevent the dog from bloating as nothing will, but if they do bloat then it will hopefully prevent the stomach from flipping and cutting off blood flow to stomach, spleen, and other vital organs. The flipping is the dangerous part to GDV, if you can prevent this then your dog has a much better prognosis!

So when you take your babies in to be spayed or neutered, I highly recommend getting a gastropexy. If you already spayed or neutered them then schedule just a gastropexy. I promise you that you do not want to experience the sudden loss due to bloat. The guilt is rough.

I cannot believe my baby is now a year old! NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY- informed me of the bond one has with a puppy they raise from birth. To say this girl is stuck to my side and thinks I hung the moon and stars is an understatement. She’s my best girl, funny as all get out, stubborn, and spoiled rotten to the core! Keeping her was the best decision I ever made and I thank God everyday for creating her & her siblings and allowing me to be the one to help bring them into the world and get them started with this crazy thing we call life 🤍

Happy birthday Chanel baby, it’s all about you today sweet girl 🥰😭🥰
