Update: *ADOPTED!*
Meet SHELBIE! Shelbie is female Chihuahua mix! She is about 2 years old, full grown, and weighs 27 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated, and ready to fly! Shelbie is house trained, enjoys walks, but also enjoys lounging on the couch and does not require a lot of exercise. She’s very laid back, loves to play but also loves to relax. She has a low energy drive, but is ready to go when you are! Shelbie is leash trained, completely crate trained, and is working on refining the commands sit, down, shake and crate. Shelbie is shy with new dogs and new people, but is always very friendly! She is good with other dogs, unknown with cats, and would most likely be great with kids. She arrived at the shelter with an unknown past, and acted like she saw carpet for the first time when she walked into her foster family’s home! She absolutely loves carpet and blankets! Please send us a message if you are interested in this lovable rescue and ready to give her a FURever home!

Update: *ADOPTED!*
Meet SKAMPI 🐶! Skampi is a female Australian Shepherd/Corgi mix “lowrider”! She is about 2 years old, full grown, and weighs 26 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated, and ready to fly! 🛩 Skampi is house trained and will sit by the door and even ring a bell to get attention if she needs to go outside! She’s a little shy at first, but warms up quickly! She’s full of happy energy, loves swimming, going on adventures, and jumping like a deer, but also enjoys lounging around the house and cuddling! She’s leash trained, and not a barker unless someone comes on the property and knocks on the door. She is great with kids, other dogs, loves making friends, and good with sharing toys. She chases cats outside and doesn’t have experience with indoor cats. Skampi was found tied up outside Guam’s only animal shelter in March 2019, and was rescued a day before her euthanasia date after spending 150 days at the shelter. She has been living with her current foster family for 3 months. Please send us a message if you are interested in this lovable rescue and ready to give her a FURever home! 🐾

Why our dogs need your help...

Guam is an island located in the Western Pacific, about 33 miles long and 8 miles wide. This small island has about 25,000 stray dogs that we call "boonies". There is only one animal shelter on island, which can hold 100 dogs and 35 cats, but receives over 400 animals a month! Spay and neuter programs haven’t been enough to help prevent so many homeless pets. Many animal lovers on the island become foster parents in order to save as many lives as possible from euthanasia, however, there just aren't enough homes for them all! With Guam being a rabies-free island, quarantine is not required, so sending them overseas is a much easier process than other countries! All of the foster parents of dogs on this page are willing to do the logistics to get their dog on a flight. The biggest hurdle is finding off-island homes and paying for airfare. We can work with you to raise money for flight costs, but as individual volunteers ourselves, we aren’t able to cover the costs on our own. Most of the boonies on Guam are small to medium-sized breed mixes, and very affectionate! They will be coming to you from a loving foster home, with foster parents looking forward to hearing from you! Please message us if you are interested in learning more about any of the adorable dogs you see on our page, and we will put you in touch with their foster family! Thank you for being interested in rescuing dogs from Guam, and helping us save lives!
