Our community, Cowgirl Collective of New Mexico, is hosting a free, ride your own horse, meet up ride in corrales this Saturday, 10/14 10am meet time at corrales top form arena. Will be an hour and half walking ride to and through the Bosque.

Female riders only. All disciplines welcome.

These photos were taken last winter when I was hanging with a very special horse. I wish his spirit a beautiful journey. 💛

To say I am grateful for what this horse taught me is an understatement. For those of us in the horse world for many many years, we can end up riding dozens and dozens of horses. How is it that each one manages to teach us something? How is it that they can leave us differently then they found us?

Four years ago I got back into riding after taking a period of time off, this horse was my coach as I progressed along the path of horsemanship later in life.

Sweet Topaz, thank you for your gifts and love to me and so many other riders all these years.

Hey Cowgirls! Loren here… I wanted to share a little bit about my love for haychix nets! Do you all have a go-to feeding approach? Share below so we can get ideas from one another. One goal of Cowgirl Collective (CC) is to collaborate and support one another in our horse ownership or equine lifestyle journeys. For me, when it comes to @haychix nets, they are super durable, easy to use, and hang well in the stall. I use them to help with stomach ulcers for Jimmy, my Off Track Thoroughbred. Since using the feeding net, I have seen a significant difference in his all around behavior. He’s happier, less stressed, and doesn’t get anxious. With the net, he eats his feed slower, so most importantly, hay nets helps reduce incidences of colic and keeps his stomachs digesting. Happy horse = happy human!
