OTTO's owner died suddenly and no one in the family is able to take him. He is 8 years old, neutered, house trained, crate trained, current on vaccines and in great health. Otto is a great size at 45 lbs. We think he is part Vizsla. He loves to run and play and - a bonus - is a mouser! His owner was a camper and hiker, so Otto loves the outdoors. He pulls on leash, but that is easily corrected. His foster brother antagonizes him (small Poo mix of some sort) with lots of wrangling but no bloodshed, and the family has a bearded dragon that seems to hold his interest for too long. SKITTLES is a keeper! She is a German Shepherd mix born 4/15/2023. At 50 lbs, she is on the smaller side. In her foster home she has learned basic obedience and is crate, house and leash trained. This girl loves to play with other dogs and would make a great fitness companion. She is one of the best cuddlers we've seen and can spend all day at your feet while you work from remote. JESSIE is a 3 year old female Australian Shepherd / Belgian Malinois mix looking for a great home. She came in with 2 of her puppies, but is over that single parent part of her life and will be spayed shortly. Jessie knows her basic commands, is leash trained, crate trained, house trained, is current on vaccines and heartworm negative. Interested in fostering? Some of these guys need a place for 1-2 weeks. Others may be shorter or longer. Permanent fosters are also a great way to place a dog with medical issues, so the dog is in a home, but continues to have medical issues managed and supported by the rescue. Fosters can also help short-term for disaster/emergency/vacation relief in the Front Range area. Good to know - when you know you hit the jackpot, our fosters get first dibs on adoptions. SWEET CAROLINE is coming soon. She is a 5-year old German Shepherd mix that looks like what we call a "Colorado Shepherd". This girl was out on the streets for some time and just needs some good food (46 lbs currently) and love. PRECIOUS is a 3 year old female Malinois mix. She is sweet, gentle and quiet- the perfect family dog. Precious is leash trained, knows her basic commands, and LOVES to go for walks. She is housebroken and sleeps through the night. Precious can squirm on the green grass for hours when she isn't getting in a nap on the couch. She prefers playing with her human rather than toys. Who's a handsome boy? This is Clay, a recent arrival. He is a 2 year old German Shepherd / Chow mix - 2 of our favorite breeds together! He has the sweetest temperment for a big boy at 81 lbs. Clay is neutered, current on vaccines, and chipped. He is playful, loves children, other dogs and just about everybody else, house trained, has great leash manners, loves car rides, and will be working on crate training and obedience. HEARTHEART Is a sweet, goofy 6 year-old Cattle Dog/Lab mix. We figured out that she has issues with young men - which doesn't speak well of the young men she was likely tortured by. She was great with her last family, including young male teenagers, but during a Halloween party and a later New Year party, she was anxious and wasn't put up and so has a record. We have been working with her with volunteers and she has made a lot of progress. She takes an anti-depressant and is getting her thyroid regulated and will need to be on both long-term. She would be absolutely fantastic to hike with and we speak from experience that she is great to sleep with on a cold night. HeartHeart is reliably house trained, spayed, chipped, current on shots. STYX wears his heart on his chest! He is a sweet boy that was rescued from a hoarding situation. This boy was anxious about his change in circumstances, but is coming around nicely. He walks great on leash and knows his basic commands. Styx likes to sit on top of his crate so he can see out the window and is in awe of the snow. He is starting to give kisses on a regular basis and working on putting on a few pounds. At 51 lbs, he could still use 3-5 more. Styx is neutered and current on vaccines. HOPS is a Lab/Terrier mix that lost his home after an alien invasion. The new 'dog' didn't even have hair, cried all the time, and smelled like powder and milk. He wasn't prepared for this at all and was extremely anxious with all of these new changes. He growled and snarled at the infant and was promptly dropped off at a local shelter without a thought. This had been his home for 5 years! He was very sad and confused when he came to us, but now he is just a happy camper. He loves to say hi to the other dogs - especially the girls - and he runs FAST! He is pretty good on leash and knows his basic commands. We don't think he ever turned his nose up at any food - ever. Hops is anxious and we think he would do well on an anti-depressant. He has anxiety at the vet, so we are working on that with treats and a muzzle. Hops is a sweet, weird boy that deserves a real forever home. He is neutered, chipped and current on vaccines.
