My friend Tiff has some great classes and one spot available tonight for Fit Dog.
Our Pretzel has had a busy couple of months. Still training hard in Agility but competing in UKC/AKC Rally.
He has a second AKC Rally Novice leg to his tally. Some bonus UKC RO1 legs, a couple UKC Best of Breed, Companion Group 2nd and 3rd, and his DASH title. Earning him a Total Dog Award.
We then road-tripped last Wednesday with friends to the BCCA FAST CAT event where he earned two runs (is that what they call them? I am new to this sport)
We are done trialing for 2023 and we will spend the winter training all three dogs for 2024 events.
Our newest addition, Zara. (MAPLE LEAF'S FORGET ME NOT AT JENMAR)
She is a Miniature American Shepherd.

While we still need to earn our RO3 before we enter Master with Sprout I took some time today to use some Rally Master as her physical therapy. We will surely need to work on that "go around the cone" with some distance between us but her eagerness to work and learn never ceases to amaze me.
Here is a fun look at all the crazy things you have to do!

Things do not always go as planned when you dabble in dog sports. You can train, train, train, and at the end of the day the minute you pay for a trial and enter the ring it is ANYTHING GOES. What it important to remember these are just dogs and this is a learning experience.
Keep it light.
Laugh.
Pack water, snacks, and your sense of humor!
They are beloved pets.
Make memories.
My lil guy, Pretzel, testing out tonight's course. This is what a "virtual" run would look like for AKC submission.
AKC Virtual Rally RNV5 Pretzel
Tonight's course will be UKC signs but laid out to an AKC course.
You could record and use this course as a run toward your AKC Rally Novice title (Virtually).

Today! Come out and see my small floof embarrass me🤣
Come out and see us at the Otsego County Fair (Ga***rd, Michigan) on Thursday, August 24, 4-6 PM for our Agility and Rally demo.
Club members will be available to hand out our flyers, talk about our upcoming events, and what is involved in joining our super cool club!!
Walking to the green bean patch.
My adorable Sprout is 3 weeks out from having her TPLO surgery. It’s be tiring & emotional but she is doing great. She loves her 3 10-minute walks a day.
We still have a long way to go. At least another 9 weeks. But every day she gets a little stronger.
It’s very hard to watch your normally active and sporty dog, who’s typically running dog agility trials, be confined for so long but in the long run it is worth it.
I highly recommended Animal Surgical Center of Michigan located in Flint, MI.

Two weeks since her TPLO surgery and she got the clear for 3, 10 minute leash walks a day!!
She was in heaven in the garden and went straight for the green beans!
Rally class tonight (6PM)
I can't promise there won't be distractions. 🤷♀️🐔
Join the fun!
It’s important to train with all kinds of distractions 😂😂😂
Lea Ann and Harvey did great!
I had no idea they’d walk roght into our course while dogs were working.
Ready to Rally-O tonight
Photo from 2023 when several members traveled to Escanaba to support the Bay De Noc KC trail.
This morning we are down at the Animal Surgical Center of Flint for Sprout’s TPLO surgery.
It’s a pretty invasive surgery with a lengthy recovery time.
I’m a worried dog mama about the surgery. About all of it. But we spent weeks debating the best options for us and her and well, here we are….
Please keep my Squishy in your thoughts.

Any interest in the Petoskey area for Canine Good Citizen OR UKC Rally classes?
I would require a minimum of 6 participants before I consider making the drive.
Another reason I advocate strongly for crates and exercise pens.
Our Sprout is looking at the likelihood of having surgery next month for a torn cruciate. We are in the process of getting a second opinion/consult.
In the mean time to keep her from jumping around too much and acclimated to a confined lifestyle we have her recovery space up already.
Obviously she is pretty comfortable because she willingly goes in and hangs out.
Pardon their appearance. They all got the hose while I was watering the garden. Obviously they didn’t mind.
Anyone else’s dog? Just mine? 🤦♀️🤷🏼♀️🙄
Don't forget about our upcoming CGC Class in Ga***rd on the 30th!
And our fun day this upcoming Saturday from 12-4 pm @ Pet Supplies Plus, Ga***rd, Mi.
You don't want to miss this! 💥💥💥
Back in April, our little Pretzel was entered in his first AKC Rally trial. On Friday it was Rally and he got his first qualifying leg then on Saturday we were entered in Conformation where he took Winners Dog and Best of Winners for a 3pt Major.
Great frozen treats for dogs to keep them cool.
Whipped up some yogurt, kibble, peanut butter (check label to make sure it is free from harmful "sugars"), and banana.
It is really hot out there today friends!
If you are coming for Rally class tonight we are keeping it really simple/fun. I will keep it to a few stations and maybe throw some RO2 stuff in there for a few to practice.
**This will be our last practice until further notice.
I don't have much shade for people or dogs.
The High Five Canine Club will also be working on making new jumps for the club after class as well as rolling up the temporary fencing as we need it for the Agility Trial this coming weekend.
We can do our project in my pole barn so we are not standing out in the blazing heat.
We are fast approaching our first trial of 2023!! Pre-entries have closed but day-of-show entries are still available!
Spectators ALWAYS welcome. Only dogs that are competing are allowed on show grounds.
Come out and join the fun!!
