It's been a year of transition at the Mindful Mutt. I've taken a bit of time off and slowed down due to an unexpected life change. I've been able to work with a few dogs though. Here are a couple of visitors. One is Cotton - A lovely pup. Cotton was very fearful when he came to me, but over the time he was with me, he gained confidence and was able to walk on a leash, take treats and start to take on more challenging tasks. His eating habits improved and he started getting on a schedule. He spent a lot of time around other dogs and people at a distance he felt safe at. He slowly started to approach me and when his foster mom picked him up after his stay, he approached her right away and wagged his tail!

Lexi was a short term foster who then went to another family. Lexi was a high energy pup who started off a little rough, but quickly grew accustomed to the routine and the other members of house.

After some hard work, Max is going on a trial adoption with his new family starting today. Good luck Max! Thanks so much to Max's loving foster families for making this possible!

It's hard to believe that Max is still looking for a home. He is such a sweet boy! Here he is waiting for his breakfast.

Max is an adorable one year old dog with puppy like qualities. He is very wiggly when he sees his human and loves to snuggle and play with toys. Max is quite sweet and has perfect house manners. He is crate trained and knows his basic commands well. Max struggles with confidence issues and gets very nervous in new places and with new people. It takes some time and exposure to help him be more comfortable. He has received some training to help with his issues. A perfect home for Max would be one that is calm and quiet with no kids and a place where he can be given controlled visitor greetings. A quiet neighborhood is best. Max gets nervous in places with lots of activity. His new family be willing to continue his training and build his confidence. He needs lots of little successes in order to thrive.
