Horton’s Exotic Balls This is my hobby page for breeding ball pythons. I may update with YouTube stuff occasionally for updates as well.

Reptile keepers, any of you know a place closer to Shelbyville than uncle bills in greenwood that I could get a live feeder rat? I have one snake that just refuses to eat anything other than a live rat. I was getting them at cowans before he closed down.

Making moves to get closer to breeding this year. We have one female and two males that are ready to go currently. Just bought a hatchling rack. Next item on the agenda is an incubator. So if anyone has a broken mini fridge they don’t want or are willing to sell, let us know!

New and improved rack! ARS. Small step for a lot of people, but for me/us, it makes this feel so much more like an actual business instead of a hobby.

This is our current rack setup. It hasn’t been too terrible for us, but we just ordered an ARS system. On to bigger and better for these babies!

Small update of unfortunate circumstances. Our snakes have mites. We are working to get rid of them, and hoping that this will not be too big of a bump in the road.

And this is our new pastel pied female, named pie day because not only is she pied, but we also got her on pie day!

Well...we have sad news. We had to return big girl (our pastel vanilla enchi mojave) to the breeder we got her from. She hasn’t been eating since we got her. Only ever ate one meal. She had lost 80 grams of weight (started out at 550g) since we got her. I talked to the breeder today, and he’s saying that he doesn’t think she’s going to make it. He said it’s a gut feeling, but with as much weight as she’s lost, it’s about 50/50 whether she makes it or not. We are pretty upset at the news and hoping she pulls through. The worst part of it all is that we don’t know if it was something we caused or if she was sick when we got her.

We are quite a ways off from being able to breed these beautiful animals, but that is the plan once they are the correct size. Probably going to end up doing some YouTube stuff with them as well. Thanks for joining the page!
