It’s never to early to start training!

After raising Seeing Eye Pups, I decided it was time for my own forever pup! Meet my baby girl, Ru!

Ru came to Upstate, NY all the way from Missouri! She is an AKC registered pure bred Labrador Retriever. Her Mom’s name is Strait and her Dad’s name is Ki.

Ki works as a Water Dog at with the owner . Strait belongs to one of the Guides for Habitat Flats, Brent Mathis who raises Ru’s brother who will also be trained as a Water Dog!

This video was taken just after bringing Ru home. Maybe if you hadn’t guessed already, my latest venture to broaden my training audience has been Water Dog training!

Meet Daisy! Daisy is a black golden doodle puppy that lives in Eastchester, NY with her owner Dottie and her older brother Wilson who was raised by Morgan in college! Daisy is in class on Wednesday’s with Earl and her other pal Stiker who you’ll meet soon! Daisy loves to play with her owner Dottie and she loves treats!

Morgan has 4 years of successful experience raising pups for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. She continued her passion for puppy training on an independent basis thereafter to help families create connected and cooperative pets. With continued education on a variety of breeds and and training methods, Morgan is prepared to serve a wide client base to assist pups and pup parents to reach their training goals.

Meet Earl! He is a mini chocolate dapple dachshund from Dansville, NY who loves to nap on laps! He was born on 9/27/2020. His favorite things are praise from his mommy and daddy & TOYS!

Earl is part of the 8 week training program to learn foundations, skills & socialization! He trains in a group session that takes place Wednesday evenings. He can’t wait for you to meet his pals Striker & Daisy!

Shadow Puppy Training with Morgan Royce-Pavlot is inspired by the old “Me & My Shadow Robot Dog” that was released in the early 2000’s. This robot dog gave parents the opportunity to give kids the feeling of a real, live” panting, sniffing, playing” pup that would respond to your voice and obey all of the basic commands you’d expect out of a pup – but without having to go through the tiresome puppy training process. What could be better?!

Growing up, my family insisted that dogs were “too much work” and this seemed like the best alternative. I remember opening my “Me & My Shadow” Black Labrador puppy one Christmas morning after crying for weeks about wanting one so badly. I just wanted a good pal that would follow me around and be my best friend.

While the idea of the pup seemed too good to be true – IT WAS! To my disappointment, the voice recognition and the features that were promised didn’t always happen the way they were supposed to and I grew bored of the toy quickly because it wasn’t listening.

So, if we cannot even get a voice robot dog to listen, how on earth can we expect this to be a realistic result in a living, breathing dog? Scaring them into submission? Wishing on a star?
