This legend is now a part of the big barnyard in the sky. He was classy and wise. A no bu****it, commanding fellow. He had arresting good looks and taught Soda a lot. I’m grateful and feel so privileged to have known him. Thank you for trusting me with him when the opportunity called for it .duncan . This is TETLEY! Come to think of it, Tetley is the first full I’ve met since starting my work w/dogs. We met when she was a pup but now that work is calling humans back into the office, I have the privilege of being a part of her community. I walk a lot of strong breeds, but she has by far given me the strongest resistance of any of them haha. Who knew? It’ll be fun when that girth comes in eh 😬 ?

Meet TRIXIE!! She’s 1 and a bit. She surprised her mum with being a Heeler and an Aussie which meant she came with energy with a side of energy. But she goes from 60-0 pretty quick and boy is she freaking smart. She learned new commands, what my boundaries are and almost learned how to guard her net in soccer! No joke ⚽️🥅. If you meet her, it will be a challenge not to give her all the affection in the world because she is literally an angel, but it won’t help in the long run. Her ear planes and whiskers are too much. Thank you for finding me and for trusting me and for letting me fangirl over your lists and not kicking me out when I basically asked to be your friend haha.

When I first met Finn he was pulling and zig zagging like craaaazy. After spending some time getting to know him in his backyard, I took him for a walk and we worked on his leash pulling and heel. And dude…he responds to cues and corrections like a freaking boss!! I love learning about each individual dog I meet. They are all different and have their own needs and spirit. Meet Apollo! My first chihuahua 🐾 He’s a senior rescue dog (10 yrs old) who came over from Texas 2 weeks ago. I wasn’t able to do a meet & greet as both dog and owner are under the weather. When I picked him up, I made sure to spend some time just sitting away from him so he could smell me and come up to me without worrying about me invading his personal space. Building trust with each dog I work with is top priority for me. A couple of treats and head scratches later, that tail came out and we were off. He was a dream on the walk. Instant love for this lil guy @meganrey__ 😍 #adoptdontshop #rescuedog #chihuahua #seniordog #apollo #goodboy #dogwalker

Every dog I walk or look after is special in their own way. They also teach me important life lessons. Every single one of them. Sally taught me PATIENCE. From the beginning, she was timid. When her human is with her, she feels safe and follows him everywhere. As long as he is around, she can greet people, (some) dogs and ask for affection. When I started coming over alone she’d always hide under the bed. Instead of forcing her to come out, I went on her time and showed her that I was a peaceful energy. I wouldn’t push or put pressure on her and eventually she’d slowly come out...looking for treats mind you Lol. We went for short walks after building more trust (which took many visits) and even though we were going at her pace at first, I was making sure to still show her guidance and leadership. She’d get rewarded for her confidence as well as obedience. Then a bad incident w/fireworks set us back. So I started again, from scratch. I kept visualizing it and the day where I gained her trust finally came! I wanted to cry when she came to the door w/ her tail wagging. It doesn’t end here tho. Now we keep moving forward. I hope to strengthen our bond so that when her human needs help, he can trust that she’ll feel comfortable and safe with someone and will also follow their lead. He can go away or work all day knowing that she’ll get to exercise and play and be challenged which also helps with the separation anxiety. Today was a good day 😭😆🥰🥔💁🏻‍♀️🐶 #dogpsychology #muttsofinstagram #progress #dogoftheday #torontodogwalker
