Basset hounds

We have been hobby breeders of only Basset Hounds. We have devoted much time and effort over the years to this breed. In doing so we have learned so much but in that we always realize how much more there is to learn. We welcome visitors, especially if you are considering adding one of our pups to your family. You are welcome to come and visit our dogs as many other people have don

e over the years. God has given us the privilege of being able to be stewards over these wonderful animals and with that comes much responsibility, which we take very seriously. "for every animal of the forest is mine ,and the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are mine" Psalm 50:10

About Bassets
The Basset Hound is known for its long ears, droopy eyes, short legs and friendly disposition. They truly melt your heart with their sad solemn expression. Their loyal devoted demeanor makes this breed a family favorite. The character is written all over them! Originally from France, the Basset was bred for the hunt. They are the top in tracking due to their low to the ground nose and long ears which aids in picking up the scent. The word Basset is derived from "bas", meaning low. Even though they were bred for their hunting instincts, they are equally at home as a beloved companion. Not a frisky, hyper breed, but a calm sometimes lazy couch potato who just wants to please! Health Guarantee
You the buyer will be given all health records and proper registration forms for your puppy. Your puppy has been provided with the best care possible. We give a 2-year guarantee against 4 hereditary conditions i.e., glaucoma, Von Willebrand’s disease, Thrombopathia and Heart disease. Your puppy has been raised for the first 8 to 10 weeks of life on Nuvet Plus supplements. This guarantee is only valid if your puppy is on at least 2 years of daily Nuvet Plus vitamins starting the day he/she leaves our kennel and you purchase a Home Essentials Kit. We believe so strongly in Nuvet Plus daily supplements and treating and preventing illness and life's occasional health situations, i.e., ear infections, aches and sprains with non toxic, synthetic free choices, rather than antibiotics and harsh chemicals that have multiple side effects... that we have included it in our contract to ensure the health and well being of your puppy. Please allow your first line of defense to be a natural solution. I will teach you how! This can save you so much on vet costs... learning to treat you, your families' and your animals health needs is very empowering. We do not guarantee the following on any puppy sold:
A. future development of Osteochondritis Dissecans (OCD), Elbow dysplasia
B. Entropian, Ectropian, Cataracts, or other eye conditions not listed above
C. Behavioral problems or personality traits not associated with temperament
D. The Breeder is not responsible for any type of parasite problem the puppy has from
the date the puppy leaves our property onwards. Upon receiving your puppy you have 96 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) from that date to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian. If the veterinarian finds that the puppy has a life-threatening condition that makes it a health risk, you have the option of returning the dog immediately AT BUYERS EXPENSE, and there must be a written statement and the test results documentation from your veterinarian mailed to us as proof of the condition and we will replace the puppy with another one that is available. If no puppies are available in the current litter, you will be put on the list for the next planned litter and that pup will be shipped to you free of shipping costs. WE DO NOT ISSUE REFUNDS IN THIS CASE. YOUR PUP WILL EITHER BE REPLACED WITH AN EXISTING PUP OR YOU WILL BE PUT ON ANOTHER LIST OF YOUR CHOICE FOR ANOTHER PUP OUT OF THAT LITTER AND RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING IF SHIPPING IS NEEDED. Elan’s stud farm is NOT responsible for any decisions made by your vet or for any vet bills which could occur during the 4 day period or ANYTIME after. We will NOT be responsible for any medical bills pertaining to your puppy once it leaves our kennel. If at any time you decide you do not want your puppy even into adulthood, Hounful Heart will take your dog back, no questions asked. We do not want any of our dogs to end up in a shelter or basset rescue. HEALTH

Your pup will have had regular wormings and regular treatments for parasites and its first set of vaccines before it leaves our kennel. After your pup leaves our kennel, we are not responsible for minor things such as parasites, worms, Giardia, Coccidia, cryptosporidium, diarrhea or other minor conditions such as bladder infections, ear infections which can easily be resolved with simple medication. Your pup is at risk for all canine diseases until it has had the remaining vaccines that you are responsible for giving. One week after the final vaccine at week 17, your puppy should be fully vaccinated and therefore safe to take out into the world, i.e., parks etc. We are not responsible for undescended te**is, umbilical hernias or inguinal hernias, Pano, hip dysplasia or any other developed condition. Again, Elan’s stud farm has provided your puppy with the proper medications to prevent all forms of parasites and illness, going above and beyond to meet nutritional demands and extra vitamin supplementation and probiotics, socialization and training to provide you with a premium healthy, stable puppy. The Moores Family

We have always loved bassets. When we got married in 2005, we bought our first basset and fell in love. Since then, we have had a few bassets that have always just been our pets. In 2016, we purchased Lulu and decided we wanted to possibly try breeding her. We waited until 2018 and purchased Leo. We had our first litter out of Lulu and Leo on January 22, 2019 and fell in love with all 6 of their tri-colored puppies. After that, we have slowly added more girls and 2 more boys. Our bassets live an easy going life on our farm . We stay very busy with farming, cows and 4 very active kids

Happy, Healthy Bloodline
We have purchased all of our dogs from a very reputable breeder in southern Missouri. We have always been impressed with the looks of their dogs. The bloodlines range from 69% European to 100%.

A Furever Friend
The Basset Hound is a short-legged breed of dog of the hound family. The Basset is a scent hound that was originally bred for the purpose of hunting rabbits. Their sense of smell and ability to ground-scent is second only to that of the Bloodhound. The average weight of a male is 55-75 pounds and the average weight of a female is 45-65 pounds.

The Basset Hound is a friendly, outgoing, and playful dog, tolerant of children and other pets.

Our Bassets are around cows, cats, horses and kids and are so patient and loving with everyone.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

How much are your puppies and what kind of registration do they come with?
The prices of the puppies will range depending on European percentage. The range is between $980 and $1500. We sell limited and full registration.

Do you offer any kind of health guarantee?
Every puppy that leaves us will come with a health certificate from our vet. We use Holden Animal Clinic for our vet. They will also have 30 days of free insurance through AKC that we provide at no additional cost to the buyers. If that insurance is not activated before your vet visit our health guarantee is voided.

We guarantee puppies to be free from life-threatening congenital disorders up until puppy reaches 6 months of age. Any medical condition must be proven and documented by two licensed veterinarians at buyers expense. Buyer agrees to take their puppy to a licensed veterinarian for examination within 2 weeks of the transfer date. The guarantee is null and void if the Buyers does not follow agreement for the vet exam.

If your puppy is found to have any life threatening or genetic defects, you must notify us immediately and provide us with written veterinarian's statement that includes the complete diagnosis of the puppy's condition within 48 hours of diagnosis. We reserve the right to have the diagnosis verified by our personal veterinarian or veterinarian of our choice and/or require you to have specific test run on the puppy to verify the diagnosis. We do not offer refunds, or partial refunds, but will replace the puppy with another of equal value. If the puppy is replaced, it will be replaced with one of equal value. If the puppy is replaced, it will be replaced with one of equal value as soon as one becomes available and only after the puppy and all papers have been returned to us.

Every effort has been made by the breeder to assure that the puppy is healthy when it is delivered to the buyer. OUR Farms Bassets will not accept any responsibility for reactions to vaccines/medications, flea and tick preparations, or disorders caused by environmental factors, allergies, thyroid, autoimmune diseases, or parasitic issues that arise, it does NOT include giardia, coccidia and kennel cough with are caused by bacteria and not life-threatening.

How do we pay?
When you decide that you want to purchase a puppy, we will ask for a $500 non refundable deposit to hold your puppy. All deposits are non refundable so please make sure you are ready for a puppy. We accept Venmo, Cash-App, check or money order for the deposit. The balance will be due at pick up in cash. If your puppy is flying, the balance as well as flight costs will be due in the form of check or money order 1 week before the scheduled flight. If payment is not received, the flight will be rescheduled.

Are your dogs genetic tested?
Yes, our dogs have all undergone genetic testing by Paw Print Genetics. They are tested for: Primary Open Angle Glaucoma (Basset Hound Type), Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disease, X-Linked (Basset Hound Type), and Thrombopathia (Basset Hound Type). All of our dogs are cleared and documentation can be provided.

Interpretation: Molecular genetic analysis was performed for three specific mutations reported to be associated with disease in dogs. We identified two normal copies of the DNA sequences in three mutations tested. Thus, this dog is not at an increased risk for the diseases associated with these three mutations. Recommendations: No mutations were identified. Thus, this dog is not at an increased risk for the diseases caused by or associated with the mutations tested. Because this dog is "clear" of these mutations, this dog will only pass the normal genes on to its offspring. Normal results do not exclude inherited mutations not tested in these or other genes that may cause medical problems or may be passed on to offspring. Paw Print Genetics® has genetic counseling available to you at no additional charge to answer any questions about these test results, their implications and potential outcomes in breeding this dog. Welcome to Our Farm of Basset Hounds! We are Damian Moore, Jennifer Puhl and Mommy Judy. Along with our family, we own and operate a beef farm and small kennel I grew up on Stonewall Farm. Jennifer and I have lived here all our adult lives as couples. We have raised Charolais and Angus cattle for years and have added Basset Hounds and Irish Terriers to our ranks.

What started simply with Jennifer Puhl getting a Basset Hound from a local breeder we knew for years has turned into a loving passion.
Our friendship with that local breeder sparked a love for Irish Terriers and the rest is history! We now have a small group of outstanding dogs and Jennifer Puhl has her hands full with puppy litters several times a year.

We would like to give a special Thank You to Ed & Evelyn Weber. They have taught us so much about life with dogs and how to do things the right way by them. We owe you more than we can ever repay.
--Damian Moore

Our Farm Bassets is pleased to breed beautiful, loving Basset Hounds and Irish Terriers for families looking to include a furry family member.

our passion for Bassets started with adopting one of our own. This love has grown into several litters a year of Basset Hounds and Irish Terriers looking for their forever home!

Each of our Farm puppy is given a thorough examination by our licensed veterinarian before leaving to their new home. Every puppy will have a certificate of health, a complete shot record, as well as AKC registration papers. All puppies must be a minimum of 12 weeks old before adoption and will be weaned. We start our pups on Purina Pro Plan puppy food before leaving to their forever home.

We do offer delivery by air when needed. We prefer pickup here at the farm when possible. We can arrange for delivery by private courier in some instances on a case by case basis. Local sales tax does apply on all puppy purchases. We micro-chips most of our puppies before they leave for adoption. If you have questions about our micro-chipping procedure, check with us for more details.

LIFE WITH BASSET HOUNDS

Basset hound puppies are friendly, outgoing, and perfect for families. It is very rare to find an aggressive Basset hound pup. Occasionally, we come across a pup that is more shy. Lots of attention, patience, and love will give a shy pup the confidence to shine!

Puppies are big eaters and Basset hounds are no exception. Monitoring eating habits as they age will help control obesity in your Basset.

All puppies are clumsy and with their long, drooping ears, Basset hound puppies find themselves stumbling easily. They will literally fall over their ears! Being mindful of steps and stairs will keep your pup safe and happy! We do not suggest keeping your Basset hound around in-ground pools. Their short stature doesn't make graceful swimmers like other long-legged breeds. Normal puppy-proofing is a good idea for any new puppy. Keep household cleaners and electrical cords out of chewing reach. Stabilize heavy furniture and objects for optimum puppy play.

People often asking about Basset hound barking. While they do have a louder, booming bark due to the hound breeding, Bassets are not more prone to being vocal than any other dog. Being mindful of your area is suggested only because they are, as a breed, louder than other dog breeds.

Basset Hound Studs

Browsing through out our Facebook you will find most of the male Bassets that we use in our breeding program here . To learn about them just select one of the studs photos to open up another page with more info and photos. We do offer stud service here at the farm, both boarding your female and live cover or we can have semen collected and sent as fresh chilled to you or your veterinarian. Our fee structure is setup to depend somewhat on the number of puppies you have. So there is a base fee then a per puppy fee that comes into play only when the litter is registered. That way the more successful you are (bigger litter, more pups) then the more it costs.

ADOPTION PROCESS

Thank you for the interest in a puppy from Our Kennel. All of our Basset puppies are AKC registered with European bloodlines. Most of our Irish puppies are also AKC registered, the exception to that being those from our "black" line. Each puppy will go home with a short record detailing all vaccinations and de-worming for your veterinarian. We have a very stringent vaccination protocol developed with the help of our veterinarian.

All Basset puppies are sold with full AKC registration unless otherwise noted. If you are interested in adopting one of our currently available babies, Send Us a Message On Facebook.
We would love to talk to you, And know More about you as well

We do not typically keep a waiting list, however, if you have a specific need for a puppy from a certain bloodline, we will consider taking a deposit and holding a puppy selection for you. This is on a case by case basis. We accept payment by check, money order, bank transfer, or cash. We not accept PayPal or credit card payments. Puppies must be paid for in full before they leave our care.

Our puppies remain with us until they are at least 12 weeks of age. All puppies will have a puppy well-check from our veterinarian and will have a clean bill of health before leaving our care. Pick up here is the preferred option. We can also arrange ground transport by a private carrier to many destinations. Cost for transportation will vary; we can typically get you an estimate within a couple of hours.

Effective for all adoptions after January 1st 2023, We offer a simple satisfaction guarantee on all puppies that originate from our farm. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your puppy, be it a health issue, temperament or appearance you can bring him/her back for a full refund of your purchase price within the first year of his or her life. We make every effort to provide a healthy happy puppy to our clients, through planned matings, a meticulous breeding program, a stringent vaccination program and frequent de-wormings. If an issue arises despite this, we encourage folks to return the puppy to us and we will deal with it along with our excellent veterinarian. If you opt to have treatment taken care of yourself then the financial responsibility is yours. There will be no medical bills paid that are not incurred by us and no refunds without a return of the puppy. We do reserve the right to use our discretion in all such matters.

For questions about our process and after-care responsibilities, Send Us a Message On Facebook.

We will have a delivery going to West Virginia and other states including Canada later this month, we would have room for another pup or two if you happen to be in the same direction. Contact us to get your seat reserved on the Basset Bus.

Basset hound🐾🩸🔝

I go by the name Damian Moore. I grew up on a small farm with my 4 siblings and my Australian Shepherd – Border Collie mix. She was my very best friend and I just adored her. I never went anywhere without her. She had 3 different litters of puppies.

Her puppies were always SO adorable! I just love puppies and can’t get enough of them! we started looking for a dog small enough to live in the house with us, but we also didn’t want to deal with a lot of shedding. My husband recommended basset hound because of their excellent nature.

My husband surprised me one day by bringing Ava home and I instantly fell in love. She was very intelligent and was always eager to learn new tricks, which to her means more treats! Within a few short weeks, she eagerly learned to sit, lay down, turn around, beg, jump, and go take a nap.

Having a mix of poodle, which is the second smartest breed, really helps. It is a lot of fun teaching our dogs new tricks! This article by yourdogadvisor.com has a few brilliant tricks that you can teach your dog. They also explain how to teach them. We have also added a new addition to our home, Molly, to give Ava someone to play with when our busy lives take over and they love each other.

They do everything together including sharing their chew toys. I absolutely love our basset hound and enjoy the precious moments when they have puppies and the time I get to spend with their puppies as they curiously explore this new world they’re born into. We strive to breed only the healthiest basset hound with lots of love and attention.

We have a full time “Puppy Nanny” that comes to our house and stays all day while we are at work. We spare no expense making sure our Basset Hound Puppies have the VERY best care! We don’t just stop here either. We want your puppy to leave us with the BEST that we can provide for you and your puppy.

We offer you the best!

Get In Touch

Breeding these basset hound puppies helps my family and i become much closer. Also, we all know a dog is man’s best friend. Just from home we raise and breed all of our basset pups. Sometimes people ask me whether i prefer tri-color basset puppies, brown & white basset puppies or white & black basset puppies. Really, what i think matters most is how well you bond with your dog.

In our home, we use our dogs to teach our kids about responsibility. As our pups grow, each of them are assigned under the care of our kids. This helps them become much more closer since they all have a common interest and love for the pups. It is always amazing watching them play with the basset pups.

basset hound puppies for sale in Nevada

We have been breeding these puppies for over 10 years now. It really has been an amazing experience and it has also brought my family and I much closer. With the help of my family, we ensure that all of our puppies are well taken care of. These puppies are raised in our home and receive all the home training they need before they are ready to go. With our first few litters, we only dealt locally. But due to our good reputation and testimonials from people who got their pup from us, there was an increased pressure from people who couldn’t come for pickup but wanted one of our pups. It was up until the 3rd year we started doing deliveries. I am truly glad we embraced it.

basset hound puppies for sale in New Hampshire

It was not easy at first since we always loved to meet the new owners of our puppies before letting them go. After putting in much time and effort to raise them, I always wanted to ensure I would choose the right person who would take care of the pups just as good as we did or maybe even better. That is the reason why we screen anyone who is interested in getting our puppies. Even if we only deliver and might not get to meet, there are a lot of things you can find out from someone just by talking to them.

We have available a beautiful litter of Basset hound puppies. If you’re looking to adopt or buy a Basset puppy today please feel free to contact us directly through our page or website for more information thanks.

Our breeding

We have recently added a kennel attached to the house to improve the comfort of our bassets. They only eat there and spend the rest of their time with us, as a family. Their diet, which we cook entirely on site, is balanced and balanced individually to ensure the best intake according to their age and condition. The whole family is involved in feeding, walking, caring for, brushing and playing with our basset hounds. Our boys even help us in the preparation of meats, bones, vegetables, fruits, etc. that we transform ourselves in our kitchen exclusively reserved for our dogs. There is a lot of coming and going with the farm so our pack is used to seeing lots of people of all ages; they are well socialized and always very happy to see visitors arrive. We work to breed puppies that have a good character with the Basset's calm temperament. The beginning of a puppy's life is the most critical phase for its development and we put all our energy and our heart into it so that they are socialized as well as possible from birth. Our females never have more than one litter per year and mating is only done if their health allows them. Our puppies live their last 2 weeks here mixed with the rest of the pack; we find it essential that puppies can learn their canine code and the principle of sociability with other dogs before they leave the family nest. No human can teach them manners and how to present themselves in front of other dogs as well as members of their own original pack. Here, it is the mother who decides when she decides to wean her litter; she is the best at choosing the right time for her puppies.

basset hound puppies for sale in Connecticut

Only registered Basset Hounds

There are very few registered Basset Hound breeders Here. All our puppies are microchipped and registered with the American Kennel Club assuring you of the authenticity of the breed. We also take care of registering the microchip with your details to the organization that manages the canine database. We breed top quality purebred puppies only. Our dogs are registered with the BHCA with a name that we choose according to the letter of the name of the litter; the common name of the dog will obviously be chosen by the adopting family. In this way, you are guaranteed to have a dog that will really have the Basset Hound type when it reaches adulthood. Here, unregistered Bassets are, for the most part, very far from the standards of the breed; they have been crossed in past generations with dogs with a very different temperament from the true Hound and these effects stand out. Beware of these fake breeders: small, the puppies are cute but you don't know what the future will make of your dog (little loose skin, legs lengthen and crochissent, stiff ears, less heavy, but above all and what worse, an excited and nervous temperament that is not at all typical of the Basset Hound). Look for a registered Basset instead; only registration certificates can confirm that it is indeed a purebred dog no matter what the salesman will tell you. If a breeder tells you "the parents were", tell yourself that this person probably defied the law and bred with a dog they did not have. permission; there is no reason that puppies of registered parents should not be registered except in cases of fraud.

The choice of puppy

We contact people who will be able to adopt a few days after the birth of the litter, always starting at the top of the waiting list. This is when you decide if you will adopt or postpone (no reason is bad, we prefer a postponement to an adoption at the wrong time). We then do a video call interview from 7 weeks to properly guide people in their choice of puppy and then validate the final preparations before the official arrival of the baby. The order of choice of the puppies is according to the date of entry of the deposits on the waiting list. The choice of the puppy in the litter is not made until they have reached the age of 7 weeks; it is from 6 weeks that their temperament and character are defined. We therefore want to be able to advise you well and allow you to make the best choice for you and your lifestyle. The choice can be made on site by making an appointment with us or for those who have distance or other constraints, we can send you videos and photos as much as you need to make your choice. Our Basset Hound puppies are available for adoption after 10 weeks of age and will not leave before this age under any circumstances. This period is very important for the hierarchy with other dogs and the confidence of the puppy. The mother teaches them many things that no human can fully teach their dog. Adoption

Our puppies leave with almost acquired cleanliness; all you have to do is get it used to your house, doors, etc. They are vaccinated at 8 weeks (you only have to do one booster shot around 12 weeks instead of one done by us at 6, one by you after 10 and another by you after 14), dewormed (4 times) and microchipped. You will have in hand his health book with his proof of complete health examination made by our veterinarian, the list of the care he will have had here since his birth and a starter kit including, a collar, a leash and a small "breeder advice" guide for your basset hound. We are available for the life of the dog if you need advice on diet, behavior, health and more. We guarantee our dogs for 2 years against health problems and genetic defects. However, you are responsible for following up on your Basset Hound's vaccines and deworming following its adoption. All our puppies are fed with what we cook on site (no commercial kibble, 100% natural food in addition to Hurraw). We suggest families continue feeding with Hurraw for 2 weeks after adoption; we can also support and advise people who would like to continue homemade food for their puppy or make a transfer to commercial kibble. The reservation

You can reserve your puppy according to your tastes (s*x and colors). However, we require a deposit to put your name on the waiting list. The part of the deposit will be refundable only when we receive your Basset Hound's sterilization certificate (this surgery is done by your veterinarian and is at your expense, we recommend this intervention around the age of 10 months). All our dogs are sold as Companion, that is to say, you do not have the right to reproduce your Basset after signing the adoption contract. We do this in order to preserve the purity of the registered Basset Hound breed and thus prevent our dogs from ending up in the wrong hands who could exploit them. If you are interested in our breeding, do not do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to discuss with you your choice of dog. We will send you the reservation and adoption contracts so that you can read them and be able to choose the best breeder you will trust to give birth to your eventual life companion.

Basset Hounds Our puppies are more than pets. They're Family!

Who We Are...
My name is Jennifer Puhl, wife to Damian Moore and all throughout my life, all I envisioned for myself was having a family of my own and working with animals. I have taken care of children and animals for as long as I can remember. So, growing up I would babysit children and rescue every animal that lived outside, up to and including the squirrels 🙂 We had even taught some squirrels to eat out of our hands. The passion grew more intense and developed as I got older. When I turned 17 I began working at a pet store and than for a veterinarian at the age of 19. I worked there until I became pregnant with my first child. It was then when I witnessed a dog get put to sleep because her tumors were so severe they ruptured. I cried so hard they sent me outside so I would not be seen or heard by the grieving family. It was at that moment I knew I wanted to be more involved with the beginning of life and less involved in the end of life in animal care. Some people have it and some people don’t. But it seemed that no matter what type of care or rescue I’d give to an animal, death was always going to be a part of it. It was a very hard lesson for me in life since I have always been overly sensitive.

Years later I have become a lot stronger. I had worked a lot in rescue and rehabilitation of animals since my younger 20’s. And during that time we had rescued 4 basset hounds that were in such great need, I had to bring help in to assist in removing fleas off of them that would have grossed just about anyone out. They were malnourished and in great need of extra love and care. It was the first experience I had ever had with the basset hound breed. But my love and admiration of basset hounds didn’t even begin there. It wasn’t until 2014 when I told my father I really wanted to get into dog breeding but wasn’t sure the breed. He remembered a good ole basset hound from back when he was a younger lad. He must have talked about that dog for hours. It was then we had decided that basset hounds was going to be our breed. All we needed now was to learn everything there was to know about them and more. lol Sound easy enough? Not really. There is a ton of information out there about breeding and also about the basset hound. And there began my search for information and our very first basset hound puppy.

In the spring of 2015, we had gotten our first basset hound sisters, Katie and Bella. And a few months later, we found Rufus. Even after, we got them I was scared about going back into breeding. I wasn’t sure I was ready for the responsibility, demands on our schedule, or even if we had enough knowledge. But life isn’t worth living without taking that leap. And as we watched them grow and morph into the amazing dogs we ALL have come to love and enjoy my absolute admiration for the breed began. We now have several basset hounds that we care for and no, not all of them are breeders. But, I have dove right into learning all that I can about breeding, and about the basset hound breed; that I have myself, became a breeding mentor to other new breeders. It is with the combined love and passion we share for our babies that truly bonds most of us together. And in the end, our shared knowledge that we have learned can benefit other breeders and their babies. And for that reason, I continue to be the absolute best role model I can be for others and also to provide the absolute best puppies a breeder can offer. For I truly believe you can have a dog from the best quality stock and without love and passion you wind up with just another puppy thirsty for love and attention. I have seen it so many times with breeders. They get two gorgeous dogs and breed them and the result is horrendous. Puppies look malnourished, almost sickly and badly needing the basics of care. So, with that said I continue to reach out to fellow breeders and help them obtain the knowledge needed to go forward in their quality of care that is administered to their puppies. Life couldn’t be better. Basset Hounds are just an absolutely amazing dog breed. I cannot imagine my life without them.

What We Do...
Blue Ridge Basset Hounds was founded in 2015. And although we are a fairly younger breeding kennel, we are quite experienced in all things basset hound. We could not love this breed anymore than we already do. We are located in Taylors, SC which is nestled in between Greenville and Spartanburg. We provide early learning and development through enriched playtime and capture those key opportunities to help them develop emotionally, socially, and physically from the moment they are born. This is done through exposure to a variety of activities and exercises that are necessary to enable an optimal learning structure and experience.

We ensure that the puppies are given the right balance of stimulation, play and rest so they enjoy learning and never feel overwhelmed. We provide structured schedules, safe play and learning and alter it based on each individual puppies developmental timelines.

We believe that a quality basset hound is not only found through careful breeding but also in early development training.
