Meet Salem!

Breed: German Shepard

Salem is a sweet German Shepard pup who is enrolled in training to learn impulse control skills. She struggles with destroying items and making proper choices. We are excited to be working with her!!

Meet Fonzie!

Breed: Bichon + Sh*tzhu Hybrid

Fonzie is a sweet tiny 5 month old puppy who has big personality!! He loves his family so much that he wants to spend all of his time around them. So much so he will whine when they are away. With only 4 lessons we helped Fonzie learn to find peace and joy in his kennel space. Now he seeks his kennel for comfort and doesn’t whine when left alone.

Meet Kenai!

Breed: Norwegian Elkhound

Kenai is in training to learn off leash property boundaries at their home. Right now they are halfway through lessons! Once training is complete Kenai will understand where they are and are not allowed to go. Making it perfect for teaching the perimeter of the entire property.

Meet Sarge!

Breed: Russel Terrier

Sarge is a sweet puppy who enrolled to start his obedience journey. Natalie and sarge have been working on his impulse control (not jumping and barking) as well as establishing obedience skills like stay and leash manners.

Breed: Golden Retriever

Pirate is a big sibling to Tea his baby golden retriever sister. Pirate is a high energy and excitable boy who has been practicing his impulse control around his new sister.

Meet Dougie!

Breed: American Bully Mix

Dougie is such a big boy! His dad asked for help getting him to behave on his leash so they can enjoy walks together. After 4 lessons we have seen a massive change in his ability to calmly be on a leash while walking instead of biting at the lead, jumping and pulling.

Meet Tea!

Breed: Golden Retriever

Tea is as sweet as honey. She has a big brother dog who she loves to follow around and learn new things from at home. Some of the things she has helped learned from her brother have been awesome, like lying down and waiting for meals. But on the flip side her brother taught her how to bark! Our training helps combat the social learning that happens within the home between multiple dogs!

Meet Ember!

Breed: Belgian Malinois / GSD / American Bully Mix

Ember is a high energy bundle of love! Her favorite thing about training was all the playtime that she got in between. Her main focus in training is practicing proper expectations around other dogs and passing vehicles.

Jaxson’s favorite activity is playing with his ball and rope! During training we use his love for play to keep him engaged and wanting to do more!

Meet Kane!

Breed: AKC American Bully

Kane is a 2 year old American bully who we have been working with for quite some time. He went from pulling on the leash so much and being heavily distracted to heeling when told and being able to walk on a loose leash in his neighborhood. Once he opened up he loved to show off his ability to run and jump through the sprinkler water.

Meet Koda!

Breed: Terrier / Rottweiler Mix

Koda is the most rambunctious puppy, she loves to gnaw and jump on everyone! When it comes to playtime she loves being able to rip on her rope toy and roll on her back for the belly rubs.

Meet Quinn!

Breed: Cattle Dog Mix

Quinn’s favorite thing about training is the “free” treats. She has so much fun learning that it isn’t even work! It’s just a good time that she’s getting paid for in treats and playtime.

What is a martingale??

A martingale dog collar is what Lucy is wearing it will tighten just enough when tension is applied for the collar to not be capable of slipping off the dog’s head. It prevents backing out and the dangers that come with a dog on the loose!

While the flat collar stays one size and the dog’s head has to be bigger than their back for this to be a safe fit. Bjorn the black Labrador is the perfect candidate for the flat collar.

Since Lucy is a husky mix she has a small head and a big neck making it very easy to slip a “flat collar” like Bjorn has on. Making her the perfect candidate for the martingale collar.

Meet Bowie!

Breed: Sheepdog / Poodle

Bowie is such a sweet dog who has an intense drive to learn new things! He excelled in each of his training goals ranging from not jumping anymore to walking nicely on the leash so even the kids can walk him!

Meet Tilly!

Breed: Beagle / Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Tilly came to her family from a poorly maintained breeding farm where she was left malnourished and alone. For training she desperately needed to build her confidence before we could get to working on her owners true goal of having Tilly understand a multi-acre off leash property boundary. Once she learned that hands produced food and love we were off to the races with property boundary training. It only took Tilly 4 lessons to understand where she was and wasn’t allowed to go! 6 months after graduation her family boasts that she still understands her boundaries, never crossing to the road or neighbors home!!

Meet Maggie!

Breed: Border Collie

Maggie’s a graduate from our program and her favorite thing is to run along side her mom. She loves running so much that with her training they can even rollerblade past all the distractions on the Lakewalk!

Appropriate Playing Behavior

Here we have Koda and Lucy. Koda is 4 months old and has a tendency to not know when to take breaks from play, which is why she is on a long line. Lucy is 6 years old and likes to take a lot of play breaks to avoid overstimulation during play. We utilize the leash with Koda so that Lucy is able to step away and display appropriately timed breaks from playing. Since dogs are fantastic social learners Koda is able to learn from Lucy’s behavior during play time that breaks are necessary. These important pauses during play allow the dogs to recenter and balance their emotional control. When they reengage in play they display playful behavior to remind their pal that they have playful intentions.

Recall with Edgar

Here is a snippet of our trainer Kaitlynn demonstrating the beginning stages of recall with Edgar. Do you need help teaching your dog to come when called? Recall with Tank

Tank is busy practicing his long distance recall in a new and distracting setting. He was an absolute sponge with all of the behaviors we helped him unlock, including recall.
