Garden update:
Our apples and strawberries are about the same size these days. Pea flowers are blooming and the comfrey is finally sprouting.

I planted these chives from Native Seeds/SEARCH two years ago and they’ve quadrupled in quantity! The flowers are gorgeous and edible. I used them to garnish deviled eggs and and will try to just soak some in vinegar for vinaigrette dressings.

Great news for Baltimore County!

We did it! Bill 113-21 has passed which means great things for backyard chickeneers in Baltimore County! Stay tuned while we work on the full details to share with you all.

The growing season is officially starting. This year I’m pre soaking pepper seeds in weakened chamomile tea (brew the tea, discard or drink the first brew, then brew the same tea again). Some pepper varieties are hard to germinate and I read that some gardeners presoak seeds using saltpeters. I prefer the chamomile method for organic growing. The peppers will soak for 24 hrs then I’ll drain the tea and set the seeds on damp coffee filter in this same container until they sprout. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I just ordered some apios americana, elderberry cuttings, comfrey, and achira from Interwoven Permaculture. Soooo excited add these native plants to the garden!!👩‍🌾🧑‍🌾👨‍🌾

I planted 4 apple trees 4 years ago and have been competing with squirrels for the fruits every year. This is the first year they left one for me 🐿 🍎 😂
