Results of Class 6 PURR PURR PURR - Sally Rainbow-Ockwell

Thank you exhibitors for such a lovely lot of entries! Your cats are gorgeous. With multiple cats in the pictures, I was always going to be lucky with the ‘cute’ factor – and you didn’t disappoint!

As there were so many entries, I split the class into 3, depending on the number of cats in the photo. There were a lot of 2 cats photos, so you got 2 classes, split alphabetically by your first name. The 3rd class was for more than 3 cats.

So, here are the results of those classes.

Class A
1st - Pumpkin and Bailey - Colete Millett
2nd - Rocco and Elsie-Mae - Ellen Camilleri
3rd - Dream and Cheeky Spud - Carol Walker
4th Bumble and Digger - Julie Harling
5th Tickles and Scoobydoobydoo - Anna McEntee

Class B
1st - Lily and baby Yuma - Lorraine Phillips
2nd - Lulu and Ollie - Lorraine Phillips
3rd - Rudi-blu and Gucci - Kathy Maguire
4th Rip and Gucci - Kathy Maguire
5th - Flynn and Bruce - Rachel Holden

Class C
1st Spike, Annie and Spot - Di Cheal
2nd - Ophelia, Storm, Bertie and Teddy - Helen Jane Molloy
3rd - Belle, Merlin and Freya - Tracey Archer
4th - Will, Kate and Georgie - Karen Spencer
5th - Boris, Lily, Zara and Teddy - Claire Norman

I’ve written up some reports on the top 2 cats in each class below :

Class a
1st – Colette Millet’s Pumpkin & Bailey
Two beautiful cats looking so relaxed and in super condition. I love the ‘arms’ around each other! They look so relaxed and happy.

2nd – Ellen Camilleri’s Rocco & Elsie-Mae
Such a loving photo! There’s such trust in the kitten’s body language and ‘tolerance’ in the adult. I’ve always been a sucker for Black & White, so that helped too. Not sure what the relationship is between these two, but they obviously live in a happy house. A lovely photo.

Class b
1st – Lorraine Phillips’ Lily & Baby Yuma
A wonderful picture! Mum looking alert and watchful, making sure that baby is OK. Bay Yuma seems to be saying ‘come on mum, how many more photos? Can’t I just go and play?’ That sidelong glance says it all!

2nd – Lorraine Phillips’ Lulu & Ollie
Lorraine did really well in this class! A lovely relaxed picture with 2 super babies. Love the expressive green eyes.

Class c
1st – Di Cheal’s Spike, Annie & Spot
I just loved this picture. They all look amazing – the coats look vibrant and really showy. What really makes it for me though is that they all have such different expressions! Haughty on the left, mischievous and inquisitive in the middle, and inscrutable on the right. In fact I like to think the cat on the left is saying ‘don’t even think of trying to move us off the fridge’!

2nd – Helen Jane Molloy’s Ophelia, Storm, Bertie & Teddy
Well this one tugged on the heart strings immediately! I can’t imagine how many takes it took to get them all to stay still and look at the camera! Gorgeous kittens in immaculate condition, and the basket and flowers set them off beautifully.

So, that’s the top 6

.so what about the final result?!!

Here you go :

1st – Di Cheal’s Spike, Annie & Spot

2nd – Lorraine Phillips’ Lily & Baby Yuma

3rd – Helen Jane Molloy’s Ophelia, Storm, Bertie & Teddy

4th – Colette Millet’s Pumpkin & Bailey

Joint 5th - Ellen Camilleri’s Rocco & Elsie-Mae and Lorraine Phillips’ Lulu & Ollie

Class 5 SLEEPY KITTY class results - John Hansson

I confess I cheated, as I gave extras. but in my defense I really could have gone on for ever there are some extremely weird and wonderful positions that cats/kittens can sleep in.

MY winner is;

1 st. ARCHER’S. CHARLIE I labelled his photo, my very favourite Chill posture, this is what
you call taking it to the extreme when it comes to being relaxed in a tight space, why curl up if you can stretch out?

2 nd Place MALLOY’S. Teddy Tails It’s mine, I am not sharing and I don’t care what you say, I’m a tiger when AWAKE, but you’ll have to take my word for it, unless you want a
demonstration?

X2 nd. CAMILLERI’S. ELSIE MAY I captioned this one, My God I’m just too cute for words. I thought this was such a relaxed and very composed photo all enhance by the symmetry of her kitten’s pattern.

3 rd OLLY. My best dignified pose, though perhaps I should say least dignified, but whatever, it is comfortable, so it doesn’t it really matter too much?

X3 rd. . HOLDEN’S. TIDDLES This’ll do, any bed when you’re desperate and I was desperate, so I settled for what was available.

4 th . STALKER’S. TEDDY. My own comfort zone, and I’m making the most of it, I’m perfectly comfortable where I am thank you.

5 th NEWMAN’S.ZIGGY. My space, get over it, everybody is entitled to time off for good behaviour, even if its only in their own opinion.

Many thanks for your entries an allowing my participation

John H Hansson.

Class 3 LITTLE BALL OF FUR results - Sally Tokens

I would like to thank everyone involved in setting up the show on Facebook and also a HUGE thank you to everyone who has entered their “Little Ball of Fur”. It was very difficult to decide on the winners. I have split the class into sub groups with the winner from each group then being judged for overall winners of class 3. 5th Jen Digweed - PETRA

Overall winners of class 3;

1st Helen Jane Molloy ELLIE
What a little poppet, sweet bundle of fur who looks like butter would not melt! She is a proper little fluff ball, you can barely see her ears. I just wonder, how many attempts it took to get her to give such a wonderful pose. Her white coat is gleaming and pristine and she does not have a hair out of place. It looks to me like she is starting to grow and maybe it might be time to re-pot her!

2nd Joke Vegter-Otterspeer – FLOPPYDISC
This exhibit has striking blue eyes and very beautiful ear furnishings. Winner of my show prepared group and the white is bright and clean, you can barely see the difference between the white blanket and the white on the cat. Bright pink nose leather and the mouth that looks like it is producing a smile, . Lovely amount of fur that looks soft and delicate.

3rd Erica Bates – DONALD
This young lad was the winner of my shorthaired group, what a real chocolate box expression, you just want to pick him up and give him lots of love. He really is a pocket sized kitten and he looks just so chilled and laid back. He is stretching his leg and saying “just look how chilled I am”, his eyes look as if he is about to have a cat nap, he doesn’t have a care in the world.

4th Jayne Canlin MIA
A worthy winner of my large ball of fluff class, she fills the photo and her fur just seems to go on and on. She has beautiful blue eyes and very long white whiskers. Her pose is superb and she is saying “will this do mum, am I in the right position” a proper little poser.

5th Claudia Maria Wagner – SASSY
This lady certainly lives up to her name by how she is posing. The way she is sitting on a table out in the forest, looking alert and ready to pounce with one foot up in the air, I think if anything were to pass her by she would try to grasp it. Her coat has density and a lovely pattern.

My section winners!
1st and overall winner of the HAPPY CAT class
Elmo (Candice Higgins)
I LOVE this cat! Such a stance! He looks in fabulous condition and is groomed to perfection. I’m especially fond of his ear tufts! Those orange eyes against his lovely rich red colour so beautiful. I can only imagine the work that goes into keeping this cat in this condition. He just looks like a cuddly lion!

2nd – Elsie (Erica Bates)
This cat looks so smooth and silky I would love to get my hands on her! Those beautiful green eyes stand out with the ‘Eyeliner’ that surrounds them and that cute pink button nose! She looks so shiny and in such good condition. The soft tabby markings on her legs and face give her the wow factor! She looks very happy posing the camera.

3rd Polobear (Steve Stanton)
A very stand out cat with such an expression! The contrast in the photo is amazing, love the dark background with his light coloured coat, makes him go POP! He looks exceptionally groomed without a hair out of place. I love his long flowing mane.

Class 2 – Warm Kitty Section 2 Cats – Daphne Butters

Hello Exhibitors. Thank you for the huge entry in Class 2 – Warm Kitty Section 2 cats. In the words of that
old group, Hot Chocolate “Every One’s A Winner”. So lovely to see such a massive number of happy cats

winner of each sub-class then went forward to “Best of Variety” for further judging.

My Final 5 Best of Section Winners
1 st Overall Winner: Claudia-Maria Wagner’s Ruby
“Stop – in the name of love!” I think that was a song many years ago. What a girl, this cat just oozes self- confidence and purrsonality! Head tucked over for cuteness and that massive paw up – she’s obviously saying “Stop, look no further, I’m your best cat!” Bright warm coat colours contrasting so well with the greenery in the background. Loved her – and her cattitude. This photo really stood out for me. I’d be more than happy to spend lockdown with this beauty!

2 nd Tracey Archer’s Merlin
The thought that pops straight into my head when seeing this photo is “Pride of Britain”. I was left wondering if he had done a 100 laps round his garden, like Captain Tom. He has such presence and style with that lovely long delicate blue coat floating in the wind. Is he trying to appear serene – or has he spied a bird in a nearby tree? Maybe needs to be re-named Captain Merlin. Just looking at this photo gives me a warm sense of pride for our cat fancy and our country.

3 rd Debbie Collingwood’s Bubz
Who could not be drawn to this hugely pretty female, sitting so relaxed with her paws almost crossed? Her subtle dilute colours are really emphasised by the deep blue background colour. And those paw tufts – amazing, certainly looks like she has had snowshoe extensions. She gives me the impression of patiently waiting for lockdown to end so she can get out again. A true lady in every respect!

4 th Lynn Simpson’s Opal
My Warm Sunshine Class winner, and you can see why. Opal has obviously found the warmest spot in the garden, not a care in the world. Paws crossed, eyes closed, she really is enjoying the sun. I’m not sure how she can be comfortable in that position on the patio and gravel but I suspect that she does some yoga when her owner’s not looking.

5 th Tracy Ann Carter’s Beau
Oh no – a broken one in a very laid back position! My Warm Bed winner, doesn’t this baby look comfortable. The way he/she’s lying makes me want to tickle the tummy, though that look on the face says “I dare you!”. Lovely warm brown tabby colours, appealing bright and slightly mischievous expression. I guess this feline is telling the human owner “it’s my bed now, just deal with it”.
