Before I start posting more pets, I want to honor the memory of some of my client's pets who passed away at the end of last year. Beginning with a life gone too soon. At only 5 years old, Leo passed suddenly on November 20th, leaving his family devastated. It's always so difficult losing a pet, no matter how much time we have, but when they pass young, it's extra heartbreaking. What I can say, without a doubt, is that, for the short time he had, Leo enjoyed every minute with his family. Leo was a Great Pyrenees, which is a livestock guardian dog. He was adopted 3 years ago to a family with a small rescue farm and lots of land for him to roam, with his own flocks to protect. He also had a canine sister and 2 kitty siblings. As much as he loved being outside, the most important thing for him was to be with his family. He was just as happy cuddling on the couch as long as they were near. Of course, he would still protect them from the occasional truck that would go by! And periodically, Leo would want to check out the neighborhood to make sure all the neighbor's flocks were in order, too. Matching his big body, Leo had a big personality and generously offered great big fluffy hugs. I'm sure he's up there now with his brother, Bailey, protecting all those flocks. Run free boys, you're greatly missed.🐾🌈💜

I got to spend time with Nero and Apollo last week through Saturday, and they even gave me beautiful flowers for my birthday! Such thoughtful boys!

Not done yet! It's been a busy week, and I meant to post these boys earlier. These handsome gentlemen are last up on the holiday parade. Sweet distinguished Kohav and his happy nephew Leica were willing reindeer participants. I think they represent Donner and Dasher!

Keeping the spirit going for one more night of reindeer fun, and this is a special one! Luly moved away last year but is back for a visit, so I got to walk her again! She jumped right in to be a reindeer and an elf! It was like old times, but I'm sad she's going home.

Let's get back to some reindeer games! Riley and Westley were ready to go if Santa needed them. That is, as long as he had toys or treats with him! These pups are from different families, but both have been well trained by Jenna

Next in line for Santa's reindeer parade is our always steady Murphy! Always happy, eager to please and a friend to everyone. He would probably be Comet for Santa.

Ridge actually walked around in his Santa suit and seemed to think it was quite comfortable, minus the hat.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I'm very grateful that I had the opportunity to care for so many pets this holiday. I'm happy that I was able to help pet parents get away and spend time with their families. I did 19 visits on Thanksgiving for 10 different families. I got to still visit many of them through yesterday and today. Here are a few of the turkeys I had fun spending the day with!

Introducing two of my new adorable kitty friends! Buddy the Persian and Baxter the Himalayan! Both boys were rescued as adults. Unfortunately, both these breeds are bred for their appearance and are prone to many health issues. They often have breathing difficulties due to their flat faces. They are also prone to eye problems, dental issues, and allergies. Both Buddy and Baxter have difficulty breathing, and poor Baxter is losing his sight. It's very sad that so-called breeders use animals as commodities.

It's a Doodle kind of day! Khloe, Phoebe, and Murphy braved the wet day and begrudgingly allowed to be towel dried. Phoebe even offered to help.

It's very cold and rainy today, so the farm animals are happy to stay inside after their stalls are cleaned. They got to run around the barn while I cleaned. I may be soaked and muddy, but I still had fun with everyone this morning. The birds were smart to stay under cover, too!
