dogs trainer and 6 years experience as Veterinary Technician, I united both my knowledge about behavior and medicine to open a new concept of dogs daycare in a calm neighborhood Herzliya(15 min from Tel Aviv.) We are specialized in dogs, we want to offer what they really want: Fun, active, interaction time and nature;
In 2015 we took our next step, founding Gan Kelev Love, the first specialized dog daycare in Herzliya. Our Dogs daycare, is a retreat your pet needs; a special and safe space, far from the daily rush, where our friends can play quietly, followed 24/7 by a Veterinary Technician and a Dogs trainer. As an additional, for the convenience of our guests, human and canine, the home-hotel service. We work with a differentiated hosting system, in which the dog has full freedom all the time, under constant monitoring of our team. The Kelev Love Team is formed by experienced and up-to-date professionals in the latest animal training and behavioral techniques. It’s completely normal our dogs getting excited when friends come over our home, as they wanna show with so much love how much they are welcome but the problem begins when they grow up and all that happiness turn into more than 20kg+ hostess, like this beauty from the picture🥰
Together with his dedicated owners we’re teaching him how to develop a
-calm behavior- around visitors.
(And for him to sit still for this photo, is already a signal of a huge improvement)🤣
He is such a clever boy and fast learner, soon there will be no welcoming guests with barks, scratches, jumping or bites anymore 😃

ככה אני מכינה לכלבים שלי ולאורחים של הפנסיון, ממרח טעים ובלי חומרים משמרים:
-אוריג'ן סיקס פיש - אוכל לכלבים (יכול לשמש גם כחטיף. כשאני מאלפת, אני בעירק משתמשת באוכל הזה כחטיף).

🐶אורז מבושל ללא תיבול
🐶חמאת בוטנים
אני משתמשת במעבד מזון כדי לקבל מרקם משחתי. אחר כך שמה את המשחה
בצעצועים ומקפיאה אותם😊
Natural paste for chew toys 🤩
Here is how I make for my dogs and the dogs of the pension a delicious paste, free of conservatives;
-Portion of Orijen Six fish- dog food(can also be used as a treat, I do dog training mainly using this food as treats)
🐶Organic goat yogurt
🐶Plain cooked rice
🐶Peanut butter
I used a food processor to have a nice paste texture. After stuffing the toys I freeze it 😊

Simba a 9 months old French bulldog mix had his first puppy lesson👩🏫
He was really raw and didn't know yet the basic commands such as sit and lay down but is never too late to begin and he caught up really fast.
His family was having problems building the right communication and bounding with him. They needed to know how to react when Simba jumps on them while eating or coming back when he’s being called.
Now Simba and his lovely family are in the process of building a strong connection with each other, based on trust and respect.
If you ask me as a dog behaviorist, what is my priority when I grow my own puppy? I can say straight away- work on building a connection with your puppy, based on TRUST and RESPECT.
Which means; no punishments and no shouting on him, even if your puppy failed doing his needs in the right place- more than ten times. Make him understand what's the right thing to do because he trusts you and not because he is afraid of you.
Once you have done that, all the little actions you have to do in order to educate your puppy and adjust him to your routine, will just flow naturally 🐶

הגשם הגיע וזה מבורך🙏
צליל הגשם נעים לכלבים, עוזר להם לישון שינה טובה ורגועה במהלך אחר הצהרים😴
אבל איך הם לא לחוצים או חרדים? זה פשוט, בגלל שבמהל הקיץ הרגלתי אותם לרעש הגשם, סופות ורעשי מים אחרים... ועכשיו התוצאות, במקום פחד ולחץ, הם רגועים.
קודם כל, חשוב לזכור שתגובות לפחד אינן רצוניות. כלומר, כלב לא מחליט להפגין פחד מסופות. האמיגדלה, החלק במוח האחראי על רגשות חיוביים ושליליים, הוא חלק ממערכת העצבים המרכזית שאינה תחת שליטה רצונית.
הנה תזכורת חשובה לגבי ההבדל בין התניה אמצעותית והתניה קלאסית. באמצעות התניה אמצעותית, קישור נעשה בין התנהגות לבין תוצאה. עבור זה, רצוי לתת חיזוק חיובי. התניה קלאסית מתייחס לתהליך הכרוך ביצירת קשר בין גירוי טבעי רגעי וגירוי מתמשך.
התניה אמצעותית היא שיטת אילוף בעזרת התניות "אם:אז" - אם אומר 'שב', ואתה תתישב על הקרקע, אז אעשה 'קליק' ואביא לך חטיף.
התניה קלאסית הינה התניה המכונת על שמו של "פבלוב".
כאשר הפעמון מצלצל, הכלב מצפה שאנשים יכנסו לחדר כדי להאכיל אותו, והוא כבר מתחיל לרייר. למרות שלצלצול הפעמון אין קשר להאכלה, לאחר מספר פעמים שהכלב שמע את הצלצות ולאחר מכל קיבל אוכל, הכלב לומד את החיבור.
פחד או התלהבות במקרים מסויימים, נלמדים על פי התניה קלאסית, ולא התניה אמצעותית. מקרים אלה לא מערבים תגובות רצוניות, אלא תגובות רגשיות שאינן נשלוטת על ידי הכלב.
בגלל שפחד הוא לא התנהגות הנחשבת להתניה אמצעותית, שינוי יעיל לא יקרה בעזרת הענשה או או פרס חיובי. המטרה בלשלוט על פחד התנהגותי מסופות, יהיה לשנות את רגשות הכלב מחשש ולחץ, לחוסר עניין ואפילו רוגע. למרות שהאפשרויות מעטות, ישנם כמה התניות שיכולות לטפל בפחד מהרעמים.
לעולם אל תעשנישו כלב, שמראה התנהגות הנובעת מפחד!
הענשת כלב בעזרת צעקות, החזקה, השפרצת מים עליו, משיכה בקולר או כל דבר מרתיע אחר, יכול לזמן מוגבל לעצור התנהגות כמו הליכה ללא הפסקה, חפירה או ייבוב, אבל העונש רק מדכא את ההתנהגות, ולא באמת מרגיע. אף פעם אל תשתמשו בקולר חשמלי או קולר ציטרונלה, לעצור התנהגויות הנובעות מפחד, במהלך סופות.
דיכוי התנהגות ורוגע יכולים להרעות לפעמים דומים (הכלב לא נסער), אבל רוגע זה מצב שאין בו לחץ ואם רק מדכאים את ההתנהגות, הכלב מאוד לחוץ.
הענשה של התנהגויות כאלו רק תגרום ליותר לחץ לכלב שגם כך היה לחוץ ורק מוסיף לפחדיו מסופות, מכיוון שעכשיו הוא גם מקשר את את העונש לסופה. זה גם מוריד את האמון של הכלב בבעליו ולכן מוריד את הסיכוי להרגיעו במהלך הסופות.
לגורים וכלבים צעירים במהלך סופה, יכול להועיל לעשות איתם דברים כיפיים, במטרה שלא יפתחו פחד. זה כולל לתת הרבה דברים שהכלב אוהב ללעוס במהלך הסופה. לדוגמא אוכל, צעצועים המלאים בחטיפים טעימים, מח עצם שהוקפא, ודברים מיוחדים כמו עצמות מעושנות. לא כדאי שדברים אלו ינתנו רק בסופה, כדי שהכלב לא יקשר אותם לסופה.
אם אפשר, כדאי לתת את הדבירם הלעיסים, לפני תחילת הסופה החזקה, בתקווה שהכלב יהיה פחות מרוכז ורגיש לרעש והברקים.

The rain started and it's a blessing🙏
The sound of the rain is pleasant for the dogs, helping them getting a nice and relaxing sleep during the afternoon😴
But how comes they are not in distress or anxious?
Simple, during all summer I have been training them to get used to the rain, storms and many other water sounds... and now that's the results, instead of fear and stress, just calmness.
First, it’s important to remember that fear responses are not voluntary; that is, a dog doesn’t decide to feel and exhibit fear of storms. The amygdala, a part of the brain which processes both negative and
positive emotions, is a part of the central nervous system that is not under voluntary control.
Here is important reminder about the difference between, Instrumental Conditioning and Classical Conditioning.
Instrumental Conditioning is where an association is made between a behavior and a consequence. For that behavior apply positive reinforcement.
Classical Conditioning is a process that involves creating an association between a naturally occurring stimulation and a previously background stimulation
• Instrumental conditioning is a training type, that involves “if:then.” conditioning. - If I say sit, and you put your rear end on the ground, then I will click and give you a treat.
• Classical conditioning is the “Pavlov’s dog” type of conditioning - Following a bell ring, the dog expects that people will enter to the room to feed him, and he began salivating. Although the bell ring has no relation to the food, after several times hearing the bell and then being feed, the dog learns the connection.
Fear or eagerness in certain situations is learned by Classical Conditioning, not Instrumental Conditioning. They do not involve voluntary responses, but involuntary emotional responses the dogs can’t control.
Because fear is not an Instrumently conditioned behavior, an effective result can’t be achieved neither by punishment or positive reward.
The goal of managing behaviorally storm fear, is to change the dog’s emotional state from frightened and distressed to neutral or even calmness. Though the options are limited, there are a few behaviorally options, that can address the fear of thunderstorms.
so NEVER PUNISH A DOG WHEN BEHAVING FEARFULLY!
Punishing a dog by yelling, holding him down, squirting him with water, pulling his collar or anything else aversive, may temporarily stop some behaviors like pacing, digging and whining.
However, punishment only inhibits behavior; it does not calm. Never use a shock collar or even a citronella collar to stop fearful behavior during storms.
• Inhibition and calm may look somewhat similar (absence of agitated behavior), but calm is an absence of stress and inhibition is a very stressful state.
Punishment’s undesirable effects includes: adding to the stress of an badly stressed dog; adding to his fear of storms, as he anticipates the punishment he now associates with the storms; decreasing his trust in you, and therefore reduce the possibility that you will be able to calm him during storms.
• It may be helpful with puppies and young dogs during storms, to do pleasant things, in an effort to prevent fear from developing.
-This includes having a supply of things they really love to chew, and providing these special things during storms.
These can include food, toys stuffed with really delicious food or marrow bones in the freezer, and special chewies like smoked bones.
These things should not be reserved for storms, which could make them become associated only with storms and therefore undesirable. But they are provided when a storm starts.
•• If possible, get your dog started on one of these items as quickly as possible before the storm is really raging, in hope that he will be less attentive to and sensitive to the noise and lightning.
But if your dog doesn't stay calm during raining days, don't worry! Never is too late to introduce your dog to behavioral therapy, hope I helped you with a bit of information and if you wanna know more about this subject, you are welcome to contact me.
