The Florence Lauderdale Animal Services in Florence, AL still has mini pigs in need of forever homes as PETS ONLY, as well as a donkey and mule in need of a home together.

We are happy to help find them good homes, but unfortunately we are full and cannot bring them here.

If you are interested in giving them a home and are setup properly to safely contain a pig, please message us!

Alice was already adopted once and returned so PLEASE DO NOT IMPULSE ADOPT A PIG!

🖤 🦃 In honor of our longtime resident Tofurkey, we would be so thankful if you could spare as little as $5 to go towards animal food, bedding, hay, etc for the animals at the sanctuary.

We strive to provide the best care and to provide a forever sanctuary for the animals we rescue. In addition to caring for 50 animals, we also work fulltime jobs. 100% of donations go directly to pay for animal food and other necessities.

Just this week, I have had to buy more electric fencing supplies and a new fence charger to keep the pigs from getting into neighboring yards. Unexpected expenses such as this are difficult as we typically only get enough donation money for food and bedding.

Here lately it just feels like we have dealt with one tragedy after another with our animals and it doesn’t seem to be letting up. Today, I noticed Tofurkey wasn’t around for breakfast as usual. I looked all around the property and he was nowhere to be found. However there were a lot of his feathers below the gate where he roosted every night. Finally, I found him across the street, outside of the entirely fenced property and he had been killed. 😢

I just cannot figure out what type of animal was able to get into the fence and carry him out considering there’s nowhere to go under the fence and they would’ve had to go over it and Tofurkey was no small bird!

I’m mad, distraught, and sad that after 5 years of him being a part of our lives here, that he was taken from us in such a traumatic way. He was such a sweet boy and we will miss seeing him every day.

‼️ Just refilled the food bins today, so once again our donation fund is back down in the double digits 🫣 so we’re picking back up with sponsorship requests!

🐽 Timone is a sweet and shy old man who is happiest wagging his tail at you from a few feet away. He came from the hoarding/neglect case in Florence in 2020. He and his brother, Pumba, were the most feral of the group, but they have both come such a long way in 5 years!

🐽 Peppa is the cutest, chubbiest little girl, who can’t help but make people love her! She is all about food, naps and belly rubs 🤗
She has been with us since the beginning of the sanctuary and she’s about 8 years old now. She came here after being abandoned by her former owner as a young piglet.

❤️ Show some love for Timone & Peppa and sponsor them for $25 each for a month!

What does a sponsorship do?
$25 will sponsor one animal at the sanctuary for a month and this sponsorship helps cover the cost of food and care for this animal! You are “adopting” this animal without having to bring them home or physically care for them!
