Been super busy preparing for this cold front coming through.

Lots of straw bedding put in houses, got Smokey’s blanket on him, and Roxy’s blanket was supposed to arrive today but still hasn’t gotten here 😑

Hoping everyone can stay warm through the night. It’s going to be a cold one! Please bring animals inside if you’re able or at the minimum, provide a house with straw bedding. ❄️

One of our many residents here at the sanctuary is Tofurky the turkey 🦃

He had been abandoned at a residence in Florence in 2020. He came to live here and we couldn’t imagine our sanctuary without him! Turkeys are very sweet and intelligent animals.
We hope that you will choose to leave them off their plate for Thanksgiving tomorrow.

For the past couple of years, we’ve witnessed this poor horse endure starvation and neglect to the point that I wasn’t sure she would survive the night at times. I fed her daily over the past year and finally her owner allowed us to bring her over to the sanctuary.

Yesterday, she came to live here at Full Belly Farm where she will no longer be hungry, cold, or lonely.

Please welcome Roxy to the sanctuary!
She is 29 or 30 years old, we’re told. She is in need of some hoof care. Otherwise, she is much healthier than she was a year ago.

🐑 Meet our newest addition, Molly!

Molly is an orphaned lamb who needed a place to go where she could be bottle fed and live a good life. We only had one sheep, Dottie, since Kit passed away a couple of years ago. So we were happy to give this little girl a home and also give Dottie a friend of her own kind.

💵 It’s $5 Friday, so if you would like to spare a few dollars to help us out towards Molly’s care, we would be appreciative!

Our winter preparations fundraiser is still going and we are still in need of donations for materials for barns and to help stock up on wheat straw.
