Hello Friends ,
I am having a moment in the garden . Early morning with cofffee , lower temperature and my dog . I always wish moment like that can last a bit longer.

As well, August is when I take a break from being at the market. Garden is currently planted with flowers that will grow in the late summer and fall. I have lots of catching up to do ( weeding , trimming , deadheading , flipping bedsnever stops . Additionally, I will soon be starting tones of next spring flowers .

So for the meantime , I will enjoy this morning a bit longer ……. And I will see you soon

Hi , my name is Jola and I grow flowers as a hobby and sell them at the local farmers market . In order to keep it real I post a picture of myself and what I may look like on daily bases while in the garden . Yes , flowers are beautiful but work is hard and not glamorous. Despite that , I love that I do , I yes maybe more so due to the level of challenge I am faced with daily . Summers are especially strenuous here in Virginia as heat and humidity take toll on the body . The best one can do is adjust quickly . Today I have started working in the garden at 5 am with head lamp on in order to beat the heat . There are ways to do it , if you really love that you do 🙂 Second picture is of my dog Tuptus . She is a faithful friend . I am trying to convert her into being a farm dog , but she really is a princess and she likes to sit in the middle of soft yarrow planting while in the garden 😊 So that is our story and that’s what we do here

We are busy , busy , busy .
March is the busiest month here. I feel like I am wearing 1000 hats , performing 1000 of tasks to get everything where it needs to be. This year on top of cut flowers bouquet , I am prepping to offer this new items at the Toano Open Air Market
- echinacea Paradiso perennial in the 3 inch pots
- transplants of tomatoes , bell peppers and eggplant
- dahlia tubers
As much as I am busy, I am equally excited about new gardening season and seeming everyone back at the market.
