After recently selling Max, Flick and Toby, we are now down to 4 horses. Today we finally had time to bring 4yr Evie back into work, who has been out on a 6 month break, after being started in January.
Flick having a little jump today, she hasn’t had a lot of attention lately, especially with Angel being on the Young rider Camp since Thursday!
Equimatch SJ Training Day 2!
-Angel rode both Flick and Toby around 1m clear rounds.
-Angel rode Qunto at 1.10m and 1.20m clear.
- Riva rode Domino over 1.10m and at 1.20m, with a few rails.
Angel and Toby yesterday at Kaiapoi ODE (95). This is them Show jumping pretty much straight after X-C, nothing better than a naturally fit TB. Unfortunately they ended up getting 20 faults in X-C as Angel intentionally circled him between an A and B combination, thinking she could give him a better line…..Lesson definitely learnt for next time!
Qunto jumped double clear and Riva and little Max in both phases (80), jumped clear except 1 x SJ rail.

First Eventing start for the season, all ponies jumped double clear.

Qunto and Angel (95) - 11th
12.2hh Max and Riva (80) - 6th
Best way for Riva to exercise his boys when the daylight is limited at this time of the year. Both Domino and Max are so well behaved on road rides!

Angel and Toby had super fun at 80 and 95cm.
Riva and 12.2hh Max were legends, jumping double clear at 95cm’s. Such a cool pocket rocket!
First time at the forest for our 3yr old Centavos mare. Also first time at the forest for Riva on his new pony - Domino. Riva forgot the girth so had to ride bareback to his dismay. 😂

Thanks to Maddi Thompson for yet another amazing pony. This is the 8th pony we have purchased off her. I think if we buy one more pony, then we are entitled to a free pony! 😂 😜
First SJ Competition for Angel since Angel was kicked and put in hospital.
105cm - 1 rail in the jump off for their first round, then clear in their second round and in their SH round.
Diesel, the last of our full size ponies to be sold 😢 We will always remember him for everything he taught both Angel and Riva, and for his allround talent, he was unbeatable in a jump off upto 90cm’s. He has gone to teach a new young rider the ropes at a lower level.
We are now searching for new ponies (that are eager to do the big heights) for both Angel and Riva,🤞
Excluding our hacks, the only pony we have left on our property is little Max, because as a family we have decided to keep him as he is too cheeky to sell, plus we love having him around 🥰.

Interschools Dressage - Angel and RV Dreamcatcher (Toby). They Scored 66.67% and 66.61%
Our 3 year old warmblood centavos mare is so amazing!
She has not been worked for over 4 weeks because Angel wasn’t allowed to ride due to being kicked. She had only been under saddle for two weeks prior, but came in today and remembered everything. So Angel even took her out of the arena and popped her over small Cavaletti.
The plan is to do a few outings to build confidence and then turn her out over the winter.
Angel and Riva had the most amazing 3 days with Lucy Olphert running a clinic at ours.

This 3yr old Centavos (warmblood) mare hasn’t been easy to start and back…..But she certainly has been very rewarding.
We originally sent her away to be backed in mid Jan, but she was miserable, so after 7 days of not being looked after properly, I went and picked her up. I then messaged Erica from EquiTrain NZ and she gave us the confidence and guidance to do it ourselves. 🙌
