Well, it’s looking like we’re going to have 2 unplanned vet visits this week. Leave it to Bradley. Gotta keep reminding myself why I do this!

3 week checkup for Lindee. Good news: infection seems to be gone. Bad news: the bladder stones are still there. Now, the plan is to give her another 3 weeks on the prescription food. If no improvement, moving toward surgery.

We had a little bit of a longer break than expected, but we got our second foster family yesterday. These babies are just a few days old! Momma cat is not quite used to humans yet, but we’re up for the challenge!

Our last update is about our first foster babies this year. While our focus is elderly/terminal/disabled kitties, we do occasionally foster for local shelters when the need for fosters is particularly high (especially during kitten season). These lovely babies were with us for just a few weeks. For obvious reasons, they were adopted very quickly! It’s always hard to let them go, but we’re already busy preparing for our next foster family coming later this week. Such a joy kittens are!

The next update is about this lovely kitty. At the beginning of the year (with snow and below freezing temperatures) we found that Momma Cat had her 3rd litter in our outdoor feral cat house. With some luck, hard work, and lots of tuna, we were able to trap her and get her fixed, making her our first successful TNR kitty! Momma Cat’s kittens were sent to rescue when they were old enough too. No more babies for this momma!

After Lindee, Bradley joined us. Bradley has been a rewarding challenge for us (and our first foster fail!). Bradley has some neurological problems that cause him to have seizures regularly. These problems have also taken most of his sight as well. Despite these setbacks, he can still be a loving and playful cat! Though we still aren’t sure exactly what is causing Bradley’s seizures and blindness, we have finally found a combination of medications that stabilize his epilepsy. We expect that Bradley has many more happy years ahead of him!

Some time after losing Bub, Lindee came along. Lindee has filled our lives with her energy and spunky personality! Her playfulness keeps the other residential kitties young and on their toes. She’s also proving to be quite helpful with the foster kittens during kitten season!

Well, we clearly have quite a lot of catching up to do! There have been a lot of changes since our last post. Unfortunately, the first major event since the last post was Bub passing away. We knew he was sick, but we weren’t expecting to lose him so suddenly and without warning. Bub was only with us a short 6 months, but he left such a huge mark on our hearts ❤️
