Straight out of Manitoba and already stealing hearts like it’s a full time job. This stunner didn’t just bring the good looks, he also packed a gentle personality! If you’re looking for a dog who is equal parts handsome with a sweet disposition, congratulations, your Manitoba man has arrived!

We have been waiting a while to welcome Dash to our rescue and he is finally flying tomorrow morning from Manitoba! ✈️

Dash was found roaming as a stray in Manitoba when our partners with K9 Advocacy picked him up.

Dash’s current foster in Manitoba describes him is a lovebug and truly loves being around people. He is currently living with other dogs in the household and loves them! He can be shy and timid at first when meeting new people, but does warm up quickly.

Dash is currently being kept in a crate throughout the day and does not mind it however can be find snuggled up on the bed at night. Dash has not been introduced to cats, is housetrained and is working on his leash skills as sometimes he can get scared.

[Congratulations to Lou!]

Lou (now known as Lulu) was officially adopted over the weekend and her forever family is smitten. Lulu has been settling in nicely in her forever home and has warmed up and has already began giving cuddles. Her new humans have gone above and beyond to get ready for her arrival. The only change this family had to make was moving her bed to the window so Lulu could optimize her full squirrel patrol duties! 🐿️

Claire was found abandoned on the side of the road in Manitoba along with 5 other puppies.

Like all puppies, Claire will need a family to show her patience, routine and positive guidance as she grows. Claire will likely be a large breed dog. Unfortunately given the limited history, we can only make a best guess on breed and size at this time.

Her adoption fee will include age appropriate vaccines, deworming, microchip and her spay once he is old enough. Adopters must be willing to transport Claire upon 6 months of age to our vets in Scarborough.

Lou | 10 months | Female | Spayed | 40lbs | Shepherd x | Microchipped | UTD on Shots | Good with People, Cats, Dogs | 📍Guelph

Lou was found wandering as a stray in Manitoba by K9 Advocates Manitoba. She was vetted and transported to Ontario. Now it’s time to find her forever home!

Lou is petite girl with medium energy and an absolute sweetheart. If you are looking for a dog that will follow you from room to room and provide you with endless amounts of cuddles, Lou is your gal! Lou is both house trained and crate trained and is fine being left alone in her crate for extended amounts of time. Lou has been fostered with cats in Manitoba and was good with them. If the resident dogs started to chase them then she would as well, otherwise she would generally ignore them. Lou is still timid and shy by nature but warms up quickly. Lou is still working on her basic commands and will pull on leash if she sees a squirrel. She is a bit squirrely in nature herself. Lou has not been around children but we think she would be just fine in a household with dog savvy children. She is very food driven. Lou is still quite thin in nature and will need to continue gaining some weight within her new home.

Lou is an absolute sweetheart who would thrive in just about any household. Selfishly, she would love a home where her people are home more often than not to maximize cuddle time.

[Meet Koko!]

Over the weekend we welcomed sweet Koko to the rescue. This guy landed himself in a kill shelter at just 8 weeks of age. Lucky he had some great people looking out for him and we were able to welcome him with open arms.

Koko is still learning what it’s like to be a puppy. He really enjoys being outside and watching everything that is going on.

Currently we are not accepting any applications for this sweet handsome pup as he is currently in a potential foster to adopt situation.

Casper is still looking for his forever 🏡!

Casper | Male | 2 Years Old | Neutered | American Bulldog x | 75lbs | Microchipped | Good with people and dogs | $350 | Foster Location: Guelph

Casper was found as a stray very malnourished and was taken in by London Animal Care Centre. A few days went by and the shelter received a call about their missing dog “Casper” after he was being watched by someone else while they were on vacation. A date and time was sent to pick Casper up but no one showed up. Calls were made with no contact. Casper sat on the adoption floor for a couple weeks with little interested in him for adoption. This is when the awesome shelter posted him for transfer into a foster based rescue in hopes for a different audience. We of course welcomed him with open arms!

Casper has been good with every dog he has met apart from a very hyper intact male Golden Retriever. Casper has not been tested with cats but feel he would be too interested in them. This guy is good with people, is crate trained, house trained, rides well in the car, knows his basic commands and walks well on leash.

If you’re looking for a cuddle bug, look no further. Casper is the type of dog that will follow you from room to room and does prefer to curl up right next to you - or on you if he can!

He loves playing with toys although he will destroy some of them. He is non-destructive in the house and is fine being left alone for longer periods of time. He does have a quiet disposition with medium energy. He is very food motivated making training a breeze.

Casper has been said to have lived in a home with younger children. He does have an overall calm demeanour but can be a little rowdy when in play mode and does tend to jump up when excited. We think a home with older children would be best. Casper is currently living in a condo with another dog and is very quiet and content.

Casper would excel in a home with older children where he is the only pet in the household. Although, he is currently living with another dog, Casper still likes to play like a puppy and can be too much for the average dog. Casper is a very loyal companion and an absolute sweetheart.

[Happy New Life Sadie!]

This one is one for the books. A truly incredible dog made for a truly incredible family!

We’d like to officially announce the adoption of Sadie (was Boo). Sadie was adopted a few weeks ago and was settling into her forever home with ease, until one day she experienced some blood in her urine. This was news to us as this was never seen prior to adoption. We touched base with her previous rescue, K9 Advocacy Manitoba and was made aware that she has four large kidney worms removed during her spay there. This caused us and her new family to explore an ultrasound and sure enough Kidney worms still remained inside of her. At this point in time, the removal of her right kidney was recommended. Here in Ontario, we were quoted 6-10k for this procedure. After consulting with her previous rescue in Manitoba it was determined that it would be much much cheaper to fly her back for surgery. Sadie’s energy and appetite began to diminish and she was not herself. Sadie was declining quickly. Sadie flew back to Manitoba last week. While in surgery, two large kidney worms were removed as well as a portion of her kidney. We are happy to report that both her stool and urine are back to normal and so is her energy.

I truly can’t thank everyone involved enough! From K9 Advocacy for rescuing her, for Karen and Sandy for fostering her in Manitoba, to Gloria for bringing her from Manitoba and back to Manitoba for her surgery and sponsoring her flights, as well as Tanya for flying back with her this past weekend. Big thank you to her now forever family Nick and Karen for accepting her with open arms, and be willing to go through all the hurdles with patience, love and support.

Sadie, you truly are an absolutely amazing dog. Stealing hearts everywhere you go. We wish you the absolute best! 🐾
