Not only ALL of this- but another big thing for me, and a lot of my clients will attest to this, is that I LOVE your pets as if they were my own. And not in the way people just say that, but that I’m constantly thinking about them and their care even when not with them.
You’re paying for a place in my heart, in my brain, for your sweet fur baby! I cuddle them when they’re sick or sad, I bring distractions like puzzles and treats or other fun enrichment, I’m constantly assessing their needs and how I can make them more comfortable in your absence.
Sometimes that means a 30 minute car ride on a back road so she can feel the wind in her fur and smell all the smells and just forget you’re gone, sometimes it’s specifically wearing that one oversized sweatshirt so he can cuddle up in it and feel extra safe and warm for a little while, or carrying a sleigh bell in my pack so when I visit my visually challenged princess, I can tie it to my ankle to make her walks easier on her, and sometimes it’s scheduling my running-to-town errands near visit times so I can pick them up to run errands with me because I know they’ve been home missing you and that bit of time in the car can make ALL the difference for them, with very little effort from me,
but most of the time… it just means laying on the floor near them with a tv on (cartoons are usually a big hit especially when they’re missing their little humans) while we just sit in each others company.
I tell them how excited I am to see them, what good boys and girls they are when I arrive and I tell them that I love them and will miss them when I leave.
You are not just hiring me to open doors to let them potty, and refill their food and water, you are hiring me to be YOU, for them.
I have been so beyond blessed these last three years meeting, some of the most amazing animals and their families, and I look forward to the next time I see my babies and the new ones to come this year ❤️
