It’s been a rough “summer” so far but looking forward to the next week and a half of sunny weather ☀️

Make sure you check the temperature of the ground before you take your dog for a walk now it’s warming up again.

Tips for safe dog walking in hot weather:
•Aim to walk your dog during cool times of the day. Early morning and evening is usually a safe bet.
•Always pack a full water bottle and portable dog bowl in your bag. Allowing your dog to drink from puddles and ponds may make it very sick, so stick with fresh water.
•Avoid exercising or training your dog vigorously when it’s hot.
•Be careful of sunburn on sunny days, especially if you own a dog with white fur or pink skin.
•Look out for the signs of heatstroke.

Did you know that a shorter walk where you are letting your dogs sniff wears them out more then a longer walk without letting them sniff 😱

Let your dog's powerful nose find new scents. Doing this will be much more stimulating than a walk with no sniff time. Giving your dog the opportunity to investigate new scents is not only a great way to tire your pup out but it also gives them a sense of freedom!
