The easygoing Great Dane, the mighty “Apollo of Dogs,” is a total joy to live with—but owning a dog of such imposing size, weight, and strength is a commitment not to be entered into lightly.

We have decided we will not be having any litters for the remainder of 2023 or the foreseeable future. We will make an announcement once we do decide to continue on with another litter. For the time being, we will be focusing on our program, building our waitlist, & hopefully working our crew towards some titles!

🚨🚨🚨ATTENTION PUPPY BUYERS!!!🚨🚨🚨

Millie has gone into season and while she is fully OFA tested with her CHIC number, I have no one on my waitlist!!

If you were previously on my list but have not paid a deposit, you are no longer on the list! I MUST have from you, a deposit of $250 paid via VENMO ONLY in order to be put on the waitlist. I may decide to skip this cycle if we don’t have people interested. We don’t breed just to do it, we do it to better the breed as well as provide our puppies with wonderful families.

Pups are $2,500 with everything included.

The $250 paid to be on the waitlist will be applied to the overall price of pup as the spay/neuter deposit. $250 goes back to you once you alter your pup at the contracted time.

Once pups are assigned to their families we require a $500 deposit to hold them for you; This will also be included in the final price at pickup.

POTENTIAL SIRE: Merle Tan-Point that carries blue. We will (possibly) be expecting lots of blues, fawn, and black in solid and Merle. No showing Tan-Point puppies.

If you want to be on our waitlist please fill out our application on our website and call me at 715-340-2864 to ensure I’ve received it. We can then schedule or start the process and get you on that list!

I think it’s safe to say that Miss Edith is feeling much better! She’s not fully healed yet but coming on two weeks post op, I’d say it’s looking pretty good! She’s already getting back to her usual antics. I have to keep telling her to just slow down and cool it 🤣💕🐾 Pic of incision at the end; It’s like a foot long! 😦

On a more positive note than some of our more recent posts, and because of all that going on I didn’t get a chance to share,

SAMPSON FOUND HIS FOREVER HOME!!

He will get to live out his days with his new dad Dave and his wife on their 17 acres not too far from us! Dave is an older gentleman, a hardworking farmer type, that I believe will have just what it takes to be there for Sampson. I know he will love him dearly but discipline as necessary. It was such a pleasure to spend some time with them and see their property. I loved getting to watch Sampson really explore and let himself get comfortable with all the new things. I’m so happy to have happened upon this match for him and know this will be the best thing for both him and his new dad! You will be missed my big do**us but you are still oh so loved!

Edith is getting some much needed rest. She finally ate something today so that’s progress! She has been great about going for bathroom breaks and short walks around the yard to keep her mobility up. She’s doing well and we appreciate everyone’s support and well wishes!!

Edith is home. She’s very sore and extremely tired but doing very well. She is definitely getting the queens treatment here while healing. We got home at about 9:30-9:45 last night and finally got everyone settled by 11:30 for bed. I slept in our sunroom with Edith as it has food and water setups and direct access to outside for her. She was a bit restless through the night but after three major surgeries being done, I would be too. The staff at the vets office were so sweet and caring. They said Edith was such a great girl throughout the whole thing. She went through the IVs, pokes & prods, tubes down her nose & throat, and all the other strange and uncomfortable things, with flying colors. She just stood there and let them help her 💕 She’s on the mend and will surely be back to her silly self soon. Until then I just won’t be getting much good sleep.

UPDATE: Edith is out of surgery and doing fairly well. She did have a blockage in part of her intestines and the vet said aside from some swelling and inflammation, she will be okay to go home in a day or so. They will be keeping her for observation and updating us as things progress. The blockage was from a toy rope (that I had taken away and thrown in the trash) after Edith had had her fun ripping it apart. She has been known to swallow a toy or two in the past (all passed safely) so, we always try our best to supervise and catch those toys that become too small or otherwise unsafe. We are still human and she is sneaky sometimes so while we strive for perfection in keeping all of our dogs safe, they are still dogs! I’m just happy to have caught it when we did which gave her a better likelihood of being okay.

PLEASE KEEP OUR EDITH IN YOUR THOUGHTS! (& prayers if you do that kinda thing!) We spent the majority of the day at the vets or driving to them. She is currently undergoing emergency surgery at Blue Pearl Animal Hospital in Appleton for a possible bowel blockage or some kind of obstruction, and a spay & gastropexy. She will be staying with us for the rest of her days once she’s back home 💕🤞🏼🐾 This girl is so in tune with me and has really made her place at home known, I just don’t know what I’d do. - it is my heart dog Cooki’s four year anniversary of her passing today too so I’m a bit more anxious about this coming up today.

Miss Mildred had an impromptu visit to the vet today for a small puncture and almost hotspot like wound on her neck. Her and Sampson play so hard together but have so much genuine fun together that you can tell it is purely fun for them. Sammy probably didn’t mean to hurt her but just got too into their playing. If I hadn’t have noticed it myself you wouldn’t have thought anything was wrong with Millie. She’s a tough cookie. They’ll have separate play times for a while until Millie’s all healed up. The vet gave us some pain relief, antibiotics, and topical treatment to reduce swelling and itching. We love all of our veterinarians that help us take great care of this big ole pack of ours. We especially send thanks to Amherst Vet for fitting us in as overflow the same day we called in. You are pawsome! 🐾💕

After a long day of driving yesterday, we finally have gathered a 54” crate for everyone! After about 11 hours of driving and 13 hours on the road total we made it home safe and sound with a fully loaded car. I can’t wait to set up the dogs new area. We have decided to give the dogs the whole basement pretty much and have a nice big kennel set up for them there. Bonus is that it stays way cooler down there in the summer!

We also have a surprise announcement that will be coming up soon so stay tuned!

This boy found his forever home today! After a three hour trip one way and a lovely visit with his new mom, he will be a wonderful service dog for her sometime in the near future. His first training trip is on Friday already! I could not have asked for a better fit than this for him. Thanks Jen Klika for the recommendation that got Toby - now Coal into his new home! 💕🐾

So important to be able to read a dogs body language. So many incidents can be avoided by advocating for your dog and their right to their own space, teaching your children how to interact with dogs AND vice versa, as well as being able to interfere when you see signs of being uncomfortable from either dog or child.

🚨🐾🚨ADOPTION OPPORTUNITY🚨🐾🚨

We’ve been having people reach out to show interest in our Toby boy but, in the end everyone has either backed out or just stopped responding. So, in an effort to find his perfect family…

Let’s get this boy a home! From now until my birthday on JUNE 28th, I will be lowering Toby’s rehome fee to 💲2️⃣5️⃣0️⃣‼️ (only 250!!) for anyone who completes an application within that timeframe and is a potential good match. He has shown SO MUCH improvement and we have really built up his confidence. He’s still working on meeting people directly but is doing much better. He LOVES kids and is a total goof. Once he settles into his new home, he is sure to be a wonderful addition to your family! If you don’t think you’re a match for Toby but want to help find this boy a home, please SHARE, SHARE, SHARE!

This sweet boy was returned to us. He is from our Gertie and outside stud Zeke. They are both fully health tested with passing scores. Dads side is from show lines.

He is extremely sweet, mild mannered, and submissive. He prefers females, will do okay with smaller statured males, but is absolutely terrified of very large statured men. He needs a mostly female or female only home. As long as his person or main caregiver is female and any males are smaller statured and calm, he should be okay. He is great with children, other dogs, and our cat. Knows his basic commands. Fully house trained. Walks well on a leash. He is crate trained, he sleeps and eats his scheduled feedings in his crate. Has a fenced yard to play and go to the bathroom.

He really just needs an environment where he can relax. He’s been much more relaxed while with us but is still a bit on edge/high strung because we have unaltered females including his mom and sister. We are constantly working with him and he’s getting SO MUCH better. He is unaltered but would go on a strict neuter contract. I am only looking to place him to a home in Wisconsin. I will assist with transportation, initial transition period, and even possibly arrangment of a professional training class with the new family. Understand that this boy will need lots of patience, time, and understanding to decompress and find his place in his forever home. I would love to see him decompress and really thrive in his new family.

This girl is such a love! So smart, a little sassy, very sweet! She’s 👀💕🏡 near Stevens Point WI! She was my show girl (and still would be) but her momma was washed from our program due to developing some anxiety after her litter, and so, Edith here deserves some more one on one time! Even though she has an amazing temperament and I hate that I won’t be keeping her in the program, it’s the best thing for her.

The gang had fun on their trips to the P•A•R•K today! First day back for us after the long winter being cooped up and out of the cold. We got lucky and there were only a few dogs for the girls trip and NO ONE for the boys! They were so excited to have the whole park to themselves. We worked on some recalls, friendly play, and leave it’s when it was time to continue on. After their trip, the boys did an in town walk to the ice cream shop and worked on their road manners. They each got a pup cup for being so good. Everyone is zonked out now from all that fun.

Millie (Blue Fawn) and Edith (Fawn) & Sampson (Blue Harlequin) and Toby (Black)

Gertie is in heat so had to stay home. She will be spayed after she’s through this cycle.

NEWLY ADOPTABLE!! 🐾💕👀🏡
Simko Danes "Edie" you can have your cake & Edith too

It has been decided to pull Gertie from our program. Therefore, Edith, her daughter, is no longer considerable as a candidate for our program. We have decided to offer our Edith for placement on a LIMITED AKC Registration only. She is from our Saint Patty’s Day litter born in 2022. She is a very sweet and wonderful girl who has a high drive, will to learn, and one I can see going very far in some type of dog event, agility, FCAT, etc.

I was about to start her in FCAT this year and see if we couldn’t focus her energy into something. She was also my show prospect. She has however, been showing behavioral signs that I do not wish to continue with in our lines. These signs are mostly related to living in a large pack. While she does well with all dogs she’s around, she needs an owner that will do continued training of some sort. She needs a focus of some kind to have an outlet for extra energy and keep her engaged. She has kept the boys in line in terms of her boundaries however, it’s a tad bit excessive. When it is just the girls in a group, she does not have an issue. I think her having more one on one attention would make her feel like she doesn’t have to fight for attention or try so hard to establish herself in a pack. She will need work on introducing to her a “place” command when people visit but, she is a very good house guardian and will do a great job of making you feel protected.

She is such a sweet girl, I am very attached to her, but, she deserves to be in a home were she will get individual attention. She is a spunky girl with a unique personality. She will be the one to remind you to live life as carefree and with as much fun as possible. She is a talker and a grumbler, there is no shortage of attitude from this girl! An extremely good cuddle-er and wants to be right next to her humans at all times.

She is a very special girl and I would love to stay in contact with her and her new owners. I'd love to do playdates when able and see her occasionally. If you are within 45 mins to an hours drive of Stevens Point, and are interested in homing Edith, please reach out! I'm willing to work out a mutual agreement in regards to her adoption cost. I really believe she will do very well at FastCAT, as she does have a very good prey drive, if you might be interested in trying out a fun new sport to bond. This girl has totally stolen my heart, I’ll be sad to see her go but, it’s what’s best for her.

❣️⚕️🏥⚕️❣️ HEALTH POST

It’s for reasons like these that we have the spay and neuter policy we do. We allow any of our pups to be altered traditionally between 2 and 2 1/2 years old. We do consider pups for earlier alteration on a case by case basis only. There are many options out there to allow your dog to become sterilized while still being able to grow to its fullest potential, without risking taking necessary hormones away.

🟠🟣🟠 UPDATE - Future Litters 🟠🟣🟠

The decision has been made to retire Gertie early from our program. She developed some anxieties and some behavioral signs after her litter was born that I did not feel should be continued. This was an emotional decision but ultimately an easy decision to make. We are breeding to better the breed after all and we won’t continue to breed a female just because we “can”. She was a fantastic mother; She will live out her life with us and enjoy her retirement. Maybe we will introduce her to some events; See what she really enjoys. We will be spaying her and bringing new lines in as our foundation lines in the future.

Our Millie is right on track and ready to be bred on her next heat for her first litter. She has completed all of her testing & has received her CHIC number! We should have a planned breeding between Millie and a stud that is yet to be announced, sometime in Fall of 2023.
