Merry Christmas and happy holidays from Pawprints for All! I’ve been doing a lot of running around the past few days, but I still get to spend some time with my family today. I’m so grateful for all of my wonderful clients and their beloved pets; this year has brought me some incredible opportunities, including getting a car of my own and a new part time job at a vet clinic in addition to my petsitting. May this holiday season and the coming New Year bring you and your loved ones (furry or otherwise) all the light and love and happiness you deserve.

Some recent adventures with ! A lot of the gardens in the area are basically at their peak now, so Gaspar and I have had a lovely time exploring the neighborhood and meeting his friends. 😊

I admit that I don’t have too much experience with exotics, particularly of the scaled variety, but thankfully Be**no and Malabou’s owner was willing to teach me some basics before taking on their care prior to their trip. I am strongly reminded of my first job working at a pet store. 😊Bonus pic of Be**no getting cozy after feeding.

Today, I had to say goodbye to very special cat. TW: pet loss/pet death. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I’ve cared for Kuddles quite a bit over the past few years, and even with a multitude of health challenges she is—was—always so easygoing and just the most precious old lady cat ever. When her people decided that it was time to let her go, they offered me a chance to come and say hello and then goodbye one more time. I’m not unfamiliar with death—I spent six years working in vet clinics, and frankly, death is just part of the job. But I was well and truly touched to be allowed this last opportunity, for a cat that wasn’t mine. So yes, even though today was hard, I was reminded how privileged I am to be able to get to know my clients and their pets on such a personal level. I get to wear the title of “Auntie Shannon” with pride, even if it hurts on days like today. With that, I’d like to amend my initial statement: today, I *got* to say goodbye to a very special cat. - - - - - - - - - Rest In Peace, Kuddles. I’m going to miss you.

Happy Easter to those who celebrate and happy spring to those who might not! 🐣🌼 Unsurprisingly, holidays tend to be a busy time for me, so I’ve spent the weekend commuting in the wind and rain. It’s too bad that it’s turned out to be so wet and miserable on a long weekend, but as the saying goes: April showers bring May flowers! (Plus, it’s a good excuse to soak in that snuggle time!)

Spring has finally sprung! 🌷🌱🌼🪺 Well, at least on the calendar. 😝 I always look forward to seeing the first spring flowers and the robins appear, and this year Max and I have been enjoying them together. What are your favorite parts of spring?

It’s Walk Your Dog Day!

Getting scared on Halloween can be fun for some, but this time of year can also have lasting haunting effects on our pets; Make sure you and your pet are prepared before those grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize! This is the time to set up your safe spook-free zone, make sure all of your pet's ID information is up to date, and if your pet requires anti-anxiety medication/supplements to get through the witching hours, check your stock now to give you and your vet team ample time for refills if needed!

Food puzzles like slow feeders, food dispensers and snuffle mats are a great way to engage your pet’s brain and keep their minds sharp. They’re also great tools for weight loss, as they can help slow food intake. Jason (orange and white chonker) and Harper (house panther) are given different puzzles every few days and they love it!
