Unfortunately the efforts to rehome Paulie to a house without other pets was unsuccessful and he is now at a no-kill shelter in Reisterstown, MD. Please spread the word. I can attest that he is an awesome dog! He's large and cuddly. He is anxious but sweet. The shelter is putting him on anxiety meds and doing some training. He loves going on walks and is really well behaved on the leash. I miss him terribly, but most of all would love to see him in a new loving home: https://bmorehumane.org/pets/paulie/

H! Please reach out if you or someone you know may be interested in adopting a large mixed breed dog. And if not, please share this post throughout Central Maryland. This one is near and dear to my heart. Paulie is pure love! He is large and is a rescue. His owners have done a great job with him, and sadly need to rehome him. He has anxiety, and while he's made great strides through training, he would do best in a home without other pets and without small children. Paulie is around 6 years old and currently resides in Pasadena, MD. Several of us at Exotic Pet Pals walk him from time to time and he is great with us. Every one of our clients have pets already though, so help is needed in order to assist his lovely family.

Charley needs a new home! Please contact me if you're interested in taking him in, or please share this if you aren't. He is an indoor-only cat who currently resides in Severn, MD. He is a delight to cat sit for. Unfortunately another male cat in the home bullies him, causing Charley to be shy and stressed. He lives with a couple but will only interact with the woman, so a female owner for his next home would be best. From my records, he was born in April 2019, is microchipped and neutered. He is not aggressive and is not on any medication.

We're passing on this info for bunny owners! Our friends at Greater Annapolis Veterinary Hospital now carry the Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Vaccine! You can learn more about Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease by visiting the RHDV page on the House Rabbit Society website, a great resource for rabbit care.

The Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Vaccine is administered initially as a series of two vaccines, 3 weeks apart, then annually thereafter. The vaccine is packaged in a multidose vial and once opened, expires within a few short days. To prevent waste and keep costs down for their clients, GAVH is setting up vaccine clinics. The vaccine clinics are for rabbits that have had a physical exam at Greater Annapolis Veterinary Hospital within the past 12 months.

If your rabbit has not had a physical in the past 12 month period, or is not a patient of Greater Annapolis Veterinary Hospital, an appointment and doctor exam will need to be scheduled first. Rabbits will need to have an annual physical exam every year in order to receive the annual vaccine.

Once the initial vaccine is administered, it is imperative to return 3 weeks later for the second dose. If the second dose is not administered in the 3 week timeframe, the series will need to be restarted at the client's expense. GAVH can be contacted directly by calling (410) 224-3800

Is your cat shedding like crazy?

Does your cat have oily or flakey skin?

Is your cat smelly?

WE CAN HELP! It's important to get your cat used to the bathing process. We start with an introduction to grooming visit where we work with your cat in a cat-specific area.

They have a bed, litterbox, water, and their own clean space to relax. We introduce the tools, the table, and tub, and the equipment. During this visit, we also brush and comb them and trim their nails and clean their ears compassionately.

At this visit, we gauge their reaction to the sight and the sound of the water and the blow dryer and we make recommendations to help your cat to become acclimated to the process. Together we will come up with a plan to get their skin back to a clean and healthy natural state.

If your cat is not already matted - bathing and professionally blow drying a cat is THE way to remove the dead/compacted coat that can cause hairballs, constipation, and skin issues - and if left alone the compacted coat will become significantly more uncomfortable and matted with time.

Cats' fur sheds in cycles but our modern-day house cat sheds throughout the seasons.

Breeds such as Persians, Himalayans, Ragdolls, Norwegian Forest Cats, and Maine C***s especially need baths to maintain their skin and coat health.

Email or text us today to set your cat up with a Professional Cat Grooming appointment in our Crofton location or in our mobile grooming unit!

This dog's owner just passed away. He’s a 3-Year-old Anatolian Shepherd and a Great Pyrenees about 115 lbs., and his name is Brazos. He’s house broken and has some training. He loves to ride in the car. He has a very loud bark, but he’s a sweetie. If you or someone you know is interested, please send me a private message. He's currently in Upper Marlboro, MD.

Why Exotic Pet Pals?

Not all animal lovers are equal. For example, Ophidiophobia, more commonly known as a fear of snakes, is a real and common condition. The friend, neighbor or family member who normally cares for your pets you are away may have it, and yes, even some professional pet sitter have it as well. This is not a problem you will encounter at Exotic Pet Pals.

Cat and dog owners will be quick to tell you that their pets are truly members of their family. Well, exotic pet owners, like us, feel the same way about their pets. When you travel, you need to find a pet sitter who is capable of caring for all of your pets; someone who will give you the peace of mind to be away from those beloved family members. We may specialize in exotic pets, however we also love and care for cats and dogs as well.

By using our many years of expertise, both personally and professionally, and by specializing in exotic pet care, we are providing a niche that is missing in Central Maryland. Exotic Pet Pals offers pet sitting services to care for clients' pets and their home in their absence. We also offer wellness services for these pets such as nail trims, medication administration, and pet bird seed-to-pellet conversion.

The owner of Exotic Pet Pals has close to 3 decades of experience working with animals, and has spent much of her life learning about a variety of animal species. She respects animals no matter how big or small, and will love your pets just like members of her own family. On top of that, she also is a NAPPS Certified professional pet sitter and will continue to earn CEU credits to keep and renew her certification, staying on top of all the current trends in the pet industry and in regards to pet health.
