Both pups have found their Furever homes 🐾🐾❤️
Pups parents are our girl “Tikka” and Little Eden’s “Max”. Both pups have very laid back chilled out personalities.
Pups are available to go to their Fur Families on Wednesday 31st May and we are delivering from Mid North Coast NSW to Sydney on Sunday 4th June.
We can organise delivery to other destinations/ times on request. I am an ANKC registered breeder for 18 years and pups will come with Pedigree papers. Please see our website www. asterby.com

Puppies having their first day trip outside. All puppies had a beautiful day. The weather gods were on our side and we had a sunny and warm day here!!
The noise in background is the vacuum cleaner. That is part of our desensitisation process to help ensure puppies calm, non reactive temperaments. You can also see in video puppies are already coming when called.

Excuse my horrid morning glow! Our Tikka may have bigger responsibilities like raising 7 beautiful puppies at the moment but she won’t lack in giving her human mumma snuggles.
She is the 3rd generation of Asterby lines and is the perfect definition of the temperament we aim to breed here 💕

You couldn’t make this up! After my recent posts about dog attacks and off leash dogs bounding up to on leash dogs; here’s what happened on my morning walk today. I was walking Chilli on leash across a quiet park ( it’s an on- leash park) when a large off leash dog suddenly appeared, charged at Chilli and then tried to attack him.

Thankfully, my friend and I managed to block the other dog and get him away but this would have been a disaster if Chilli was a reactive dog. The owners stood at a distance and did nothing except try to call their dog that completely ignored them.

Enough already. We all deserve to be able to walk our dogs in peace and our dogs deserve it too. Some of your stories on my previous posts were heartbreaking (and terrifying).

Please, I beg you, if you know that your dog can sometimes react to other dogs in a negative way, please keep it on a leash when out in public. Please don’t try to ‘socialise’ a dog that isn’t great with dogs in public places where there are a lot of dogs - it’s a recipe for disaster.

Preventing an attack is obviously better than trying to break one up, so I am going to get back to you asap with some tips with what to do when you find yourself in these really stressful situations.

This message is so important.

Please stop letting your dog charge up to other dogs. I know it might appear that your dog just ‘wants to say hello’ or be social but it’s dangerous for your dog, and for owners of nervous or reactive dogs, it is a stress-inducing nightmare.

I see this happen all the time, and I cringe watching the body language of the dogs that get ambushed. When you see a person change direction with their dog or suddenly cross the road, please take that as a sign that they do not want your dog to approach.

Our happy girl Tikka may have some exciting news to share with you all in a few weeks time! For now she has decided sleeping in is her new hobby. She potentially is due for her babies early April (pending ultrasound).
We will have our hands full with a potential litter from Evie as well that will be due Early March. We haven’t had puppies for quite some time and already have families on our waiting list patiently waiting for puppies arrival.

Here are the boys who are planned to father our 2023 Litters.

Barry will father majority of the litters as he is the only stud boy we have here at Asterby as our beloved Ember is going on 14 years old and is enjoying his 4th year of retirement.

Ollie is owned by a lovely fellow breeder Kim of Little Eden Border Collies, we are very thankful to be able to use one of her gorgeous boys.

To celebrate these athletic and faithful dogs, here are three fun facts.

🐶 They are incredibly intelligent.
🐶 As well as being excellent herders, Border Collies also make brilliant search and rescue dogs.
🐶 Queen Victoria, who was a well-known dog lover, was a Border Collie enthusiast.
