Sinking Valley Lil Sky went out and did exactly what she was bred to do today. When I made the cross with Kash and Sis 4 years ago field trailing wasn't on my mind. What I wanted was a dog that could get up and run it like Kash but also drop anchor and grind it out when the going got tough like her momma.
And that's what this old peanut rolling black and tan did today at Lake City Beagle Club to get 5th in a class of 34 tough big females.

Numbers were down some today but it's always a good time running dogs with my buddies at Lake City. Huntmemore's J-Bear got 5th in little males and Eagles Wings Bocephus (derby) took home 3rd in big males in his second trial. Big thanks to Jon Brock and Marty Gipson for allowing me the opportunity to work with these fine hounds!

Come join us at Lake City Beagle Club this weekend for our fall SPO License Trial/UBGF Qualifier. Plenty of food, fellowship, and rabbits.
Males - Saturday Oct. 26
Females - Sunday Oct. 27
* Judges Changes* - Robbie Smith will replace Mike Klutz on big males and Nathaniel Humphreys will replace David Minor on Big Females.

I've been having a blast with these FCGD Mountain Top T-Bone D derbies Mr. Ricky Dean has sent me. I gave Cowgirl her first real heat check today and she ate it up like a good old PBJ (inside joke LoL). We need some derby trials ASAP!!!!

Mr. Consistent was back at it today at Henryville's SPO trial. That's 2 thirds in 2 states in 3 days. We're gonna try tweaking his training to see if we can get the blue next time.

After being laid up with dew poison and Lyme disease most of the summer it was sure good seeing HuntMeMore's J-Bear come out looking like his old self today. This boy is Mr. Consistent even in a hurricane!!!

With the weather changing daily and a lot of young rabbits this is a great time of year to see your pack's strengths and weaknesses. This pack might not be the most rulebook style but they can sure get a lot accomplished. I think we're gonna have some fun with them this fall!

Tucker was one of the kids favorite pups out of Kash and Sis's litter a couple years ago. We sold him as a pup because we were keeping the females. His owner got him started but had health problems come up that kept him from running his dogs. He recently reached out to me and asked if we would want Tucker back. After being laid up for 3 years it took a couple weeks to get him back in shape but Ol Tucker is showing you can't keep a good dog down!

I haven't been so excited about watching a young dog come into his own in a while. He might not be the biggest, the strongest or the fastest but if you go over the end Gold Dust will cut you faster than a dice game gone wrong!!!

Finished up Logan Keith Hall's new kennel yesterday. Plenty of room for his "run to catch" dogs to stretch their legs during the day.

Lake City will be hosting an AKC Field Judging Seminar June 22 @ 8am. $25 dollars will include lunch.
Everyone I talk to at the trials say we need more good honest judges so HERE'S YOUR CHANCE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE SPORT OF BEAGLING!

From hosting 180 dogs at the AKC SPO Nationals 2 weeks ago to a 10 dog derby trial yesterday Lake City Beagle Club is in it for the beagle hound, comradery, and the preservation of our sport!!!
